Ten years ago, I took my first steps in the world of techno at the ADE event in Amsterdam. Shortly after entering the venue, the second set of the night started, and it opened with CS' Hypnotica remix of At Les. Acccording to your judgment on this remix, I must have had a horrific introduction into techno music. The dj who opened his set with this 'terrible' track, would have tortured the crowd with a ‘ruined classic', and spoiled my nascent techno brain as well.

The man behind the decks? Stacey Pullen.

In reality, he catapulted me into techno that night, starting with this "horrible, horrible" remix. I danced my ass off and got completely carried away by the rythms, the groove, the soul, the vibe of the techno train.
Never having experienced anything like that before, this was truly a life changing event.

I can imagine that one prefers to stick to the beginning days, which means that every development of the genre, or remix of a classic, is a downgrade. But scrapping this remix as ruining a classic, terrible, horrible? No.
The original track has been treated with respect, and the Detroit characteristics remained intact. To me, the fact that Stacey Pullen opened his set with the remix, is a confirmation of that.

My wife and my 8-year old son are as hypnotised by this the moment it comes on, as I am. Which makes me a rich man...

These are words with power my friend.

Pretty much the best track of all time... Big up to all the Detroit techno heads! 👌👍

More songs about food and revolutionary art is a goddamn masterpiece.

It's boring as hell
Imagine this being played at the rave. People sleeping

@Miloš Lengs a trancehead and a fan of various house genres I find techno not my favorite kind of music which indeed may be tedious to listen to sometimes. Techno is the music for your head and soul, not your body, you are not suppose to rave on it, just relax and listen. I like late 80's Detroit and some modern minimal techno though, but not other techno subgenres. My 2 cents.

this sound reminds of some dark autumn days back in the 90s...like a warm blanket to hide your body under...it was such a pleasure to discover this track back in the days...fell in love with it and still am...

grisuarchenoah it’s surprising how feelings can overlap for different people over the same tune. this music brings back my memories of some dark autumn days, too, mid-2010ies, though
