LEIKKO features the catchy rhythms and clever pop hooks of previous album DEW POINT, but possesses hints of stadium greatness with its poppy echoing drumbeats, dreamy synth sounds and Robert Johansson’s guitar which provide a distinctive backdrop of desert surf psychedelia.
After a one year long tour in Europe and USA 2010/2011, the Swedes emigrated to Barcelona to record their new album, LEIKKO. Recorded over a year in ten different locations it was finally sent to Cristoffer Roth at Dubious Studios (The Concretes, Moneybrother) for mixing.
The songs featured on the album describes the locations and the people that the band met during their DIY-tours after the release of their debut album: from copper thieves of New York to the poets of New Orleans, from bonfires in Louisiana to houseboats in Hamburg.
One of the album’s unique features is the fact that there are not one but two lead vocalists, with an effective contrast of Haggren’s reverberating falsetto tones with Adolfsson’s lower-pitched whispering sound.

Case Conrad Lyrics

Hold up this song
Before you judge me, I was wrong
Hold up this song
I am fatal, I'm a flaw
I heard you say
In all the darkness, I was found
Hold up this song
Hold up this song
Hold up this song
Tap your finger on the drum
You know the one
Paint the morning with your gun
You know the one
Hold up this song
Hold up this song
Hold up this song
And now your lonely days are over
It's going to take a little time
And we will hide under the covers
Before
Hold up this song
The lyrics of Case Conrad's song Hold Up This Song present a deep, emotional message of guilt, redemption, and the power of music to heal. The song starts with the lines "Ballerina, play along, hold up this song, before you judge me, I was wrong," implying that the singer has done something wrong and feels the need for forgiveness. The image of the ballerina, an elegant and delicate figure, is juxtaposed with the idea of holding up the song, suggesting that music can be a powerful force that can overcome even the weight of guilt and shame.
The lyrics then continue to reveal the singer's inner turmoil: "I am fatal, I'm a flaw, I heard you say, in all the darkness, I was found, I heard you say." Here, the singer acknowledges their flaws and shortcomings, but also acknowledges that they have found a way out of the darkness through the healing power of music. The repeated mantra of "hold up this song" reinforces the idea that music can overcome even the most overwhelming emotions, providing a kind of catharsis for the singer and for the listener.
In the next part of the song, we hear the lines "Tap your finger on the drum, you know the one, paint the morning with your gun, you know the one." Here, the singer is encouraging the listener to tap into their own inner strength and creativity, using music as a tool for healing and catharsis. The final lines of the song provide a sense of hope for the future, as the singer assures us that "your lonely days are over, it's going to take a little time, and we will hide under the covers, before we hold up this song."
