Following the brothers' falling out, Max Cavalera had formed a new band, Soulfly, and Igor had recorded four studio albums with Sepultura before leaving the band in January 2006. In July 2006, Max received an unexpected call from his brother, and by the end of the conversation, Max had invited Igor to visit him in Phoenix, Arizona, to perform in a Soulfly show. Igor joined Soulfly in concert and performed two Sepultura songs. After the show, Max suggested they begin a new project, and Igor accepted. To complete the band, Max chose Soulfly guitarist Marc Rizzo and Joe Duplantier (Gojira) as the bass guitarist. The group then recorded their debut album at Undercity Studios in Los Angeles with engineer and co-producer Logan Mader in July 2007. Named after the band's original moniker, Inflikted was released through Roadrunner Records on March 25, 2008. Cavalera Conspiracy has released three more albums since then: Blunt Force Trauma (2011), Pandemonium (2014) and Psychosis (2017).

Killing Inside
Cavalera Conspiracy Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I am commotion
Killing inside
Killing inside
I am destruction
Killing inside
Killing inside
I am burning fear
Killing inside
I am the killer, everyone dies
Look into my eyes
They come to murder, murder now
Everyone dies
Afflict them into a wall
Look into my eyes
The wars are rising now
Everyone dies
Take you from inside out
Killing inside
I am eternal
Killing inside
Killing inside
I am free too
Killing inside
Killing inside
I am immortal
Killing inside
Killing inside
I am forever, look in my eyes
Look in my eyes!
Look into my eyes
They come to murder, murder now
Everyone dies
Afflict them into a wall
Look into my eyes
The wars are rising now
Everyone dies
Take you from inside out
As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I feel no fear
What I fear is what is killing inside
And I know that the end is near
As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I feel no fear
What I fear is what is killing inside
And I know that the end is near
Everyone dies
Look in my eyes!
Murder now!
Look into my eyes
They come to murder, murder now
Everyone dies
Afflict them into a wall
Look into my eyes
The wars are rising now
Everyone dies
Take you from inside out
The lyrics to "Killing Inside" by Cavalera Conspiracy depict a character who is consumed by their own destructive urges. The repeated phrase "Killing inside" represents this internal demon that drives the singer to commit violent acts. The lyrics also suggest that the singer sees themselves as immortal and eternal, which adds to the sense of danger and instability surrounding them. The line "Take you from inside out" implies that the singer seeks to destroy not only their victims but also their own inner selves. The repeated refrain to "Look into my eyes" adds an element of menace and power - the singer believes that their gaze alone can bring about death and destruction.
The music video for "Killing Inside" reinforces this theme of violence and destruction. It shows the members of Cavalera Conspiracy performing in a basement while a group of actors enact various violent scenarios around them. The lyrics match up with the actions on screen, enhancing the sense of chaos and instability.
