The band was comprised of Chris Demere, Stefen Engelke, Torsten Engelke, and Javier Revilla. While the band was German, their lead singer (Revilla) was a Spaniard, so several of their songs were sung in Spanish (the majority of their songs were in English).

Cetu Javu scored dance hits with "Situations", "Have In Mind" (the Kalimba Mix) and "Adónde" in 1988.

Their former leadsinger Javier Revilla-Diez is nowadays a professor of geography at Leibniz University of Hannover and so the group is actually starting to gain new fame among local students.

Cetu Javu released two albums, "Southern Lands" (1990) and "Where Is Where" (1992).
