The band started by a trio of musicians from Malaga: María del Mar Rodríguez Carnero (aka La Mari), Eduardo and Dani (who left the band in 2005). They have released two albums of their own. In 2003, they were winners of the Premio Ondas musical award for their debut album, Endorfinas en la mente (Endorphins in the Mind).

The song Una de Tantas by Chambao starts off with the singer saying that someone assumed they were lying down watching television, lethargic and bored. But in reality, they were awake and alert, thinking about all the time it took to write songs and perform them with a group, carrying equipment that could be tiring. The song talks about how music is a heavy responsibility and can take a toll on a person, both physically and emotionally. The song continues with an unrelated story about tigers and ends with the singer expressing their love for garlic sandwiches with a hint of meat beneath it.
The song is extremely metaphorical in its approach. The first paragraph has strong metaphorical leanings, with "dispierto" (awake and alert) used in place of "despierto" (awake), and "embolillao" used as a metaphor for lethargy or boredom.
