Why did you leave me here alone?
Wait, don't go so fast
I'm missing the moments as they pass
Now I've looked in the mirror and the worlds getting clearer
So wait for me this time
I'm down I'm down on my knees I'm begging for all your sympathy
You humble people everywhere (I don't mean to hurt you)
Now I've looked in the mirror and the worlds getting clearer
I'll take what you give me. Please know that I'm learning
So wait for me this time
I should've know better
I shouldn't have wasted those days
And afternoons and mornings
I threw them all away
Now this is my time
I'm going to make this moment mine.
(I shouldn't have wasted those days)
I'll take what you give me. Please know that I'm learning
I've looked in the mirror
My world's getting clearer
So wait for me this time
In Chantal Kreviazuk's song "Time," the singer reflects on the fleeting nature of time and the inevitability of life passing by quickly. The lyrics begin with the singer questioning where time has gone and expressing regret for not appreciating the moments passing by. The lyrics also touch on the idea of not wanting time to move too quickly and missing out on experiences as a result.
The second verse of the song becomes more introspective as the singer looks inward and acknowledges her mistakes in not appreciating the time that has passed. She begs for sympathy and understanding from time, but realizes that time is an illusion and doesn't really care. She expresses empathy for other people who may also be struggling with the idea of losing time.
The chorus repeats the idea of the singer looking in the mirror and realizing that her world is getting clearer. She vows to take advantage of her time and make the most of the moment, acknowledging the mistakes she made by wasting her past days.
Overall, the song is a poignant reminder to appreciate the time we have and make the most of the present moment.
