Char and Amber are of Irish and Scottish descent and are finding many Celtic fans love their peaceful contemporary folk style including the penny whistle on "Sleepers Awake". Char started singing at the age of six in a small church in western Oklahoma and has studied voice, clarinet and guitar. She was the guitar instructor at Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma for many years, performed in the Enid Symphony, directed church choirs, and was a vocal competition judge at the Tri State Music Festival. Char holds a Master Degree from Oklahoma State University and her daughter Amber, holds a Bachelors Degree from Arizona State University. Amber is featured on 'Sleepers Awake' album singing lead vocals on the 5th track "Waited 'til Noon".
Char's second self produced album 'Sleepers Awake' released in June 2009 entices listeners with a rootsy sound that is full of intricate harmony. Their music has an eclectic grouping of songs some considered to be Folk/Americana with vocal kinship to Paula Cole, and Joni Mitchell but instrumental composition similar to U2 and ColdPlay. Her music also has songs that reflect a New Age/Celtic sound incorporating world instruments similar to Loreena McKennitt. As a writer her lyrics focus on loss, peace and healing although she does have some unreleased material with a darker side ready to pitch to television vampire and werewolf series. Char is a believer in positive thought and is tuned into the energy movement worldwide. Her first album 'Secrets of the Heart' is being used in ICU hospital recovery units, massage clinics and yoga classes. Some of the songs on the CD are referring to the invisible realm and the veil that exists between reality and the spiritual realm. Char feels that the quote, "Be Still and Know God" is very significant in her own life. Her music is available on her website www.charbutler.com as well as itunes and cdbaby. She is a member of healing music.org
Waited 'Til Noon MP3
Char Butler Lyrics

and you wait outside until the fear is gone.
Oh you waited, waited, waited 'til noon.
So you go inside and you say what's wrong,
that you feel inside that all the love is gone.
Oh you waited, waited, waited 'til noon.
All the ones so close feel as if the road is long.
All the ones so close feel as if you're rude.
you wake up singin' that sad,
sad, song, you wake up, wake up broken and bruised.
So you wait outside cause you know you're wrong,
and you wait outside until the fear is gone.
Oh you waited, waited, waited 'til noon.
So you go inside and you say you're wrong and you
go inside and all the love is gone.
Oh you waited, waited, waited 'til noon.
Come and hold me close, forgive me for my foolish heart.
Come and hold me close, I cried out to you.
And I woke up knowin' that you were gone and I woke
up singin' that sad, sad, song. I woke up, woke up dazed and confused.
Waited, oh you waited, yes you waited,
waited 'til noon. Waited,
oh you waited, yes you waited, waited 'til noon.
Come and hold me close, forgive me for my foolish heart.
Come and hold me close, I cried out to you.
And I woke up knowin' that you were gone and I woke
up singin' that sad, sad, song.
I woke up, woke up broken and bruised.
Oh, I woke up, woke up broken and bruised.
Woke up, woke up dazed and confused.
The song "Waited 'Til Noon" by Char Butler is a heartbreaking tale of regret and the consequences of waiting too long to take action in a relationship. The singer waits outside because they feel something is wrong, but they wait until their fear is gone to go inside and address the issues. Unfortunately, by then it may be too late as the love is gone and they are left broken and bruised.
The repetition of the phrase "waited, waited, waited 'til noon" emphasizes the importance of taking action sooner rather than later. The lines "all the ones so close feel as if the road is long" and "all the ones so close feel as if you're rude" suggest that the relationship had become strained and distant due to the singer's inaction.
The plea in the chorus to "come and hold me close" and the admission of a "foolish heart" shows that the singer is aware of their mistakes and is willing to make amends, but it may be too late. The song ends with a sense of confusion and sadness, with the singer waking up broken and bruised.
Overall, "Waited 'Til Noon" is a powerful reminder to not wait until it's too late to address issues in a relationship and communicate with those we love.
