I had my own rock band at the same time as Chasar called Quasar, we both played the same places in Glasgow, i was lucky enough to know the Marshall Brothers and still keep in touch with Jim, these guys had a fantastic following nothing better than sitting in the diall inn for a Chasar session great entertainment on a friday night or saturday afternoon.

Did you ever play at the glenburn hotel in currie George, the band name seems familiar.

Surprised that nobody has commented yet! After 1474 views , and a whole year that this excellent LP has been uploaded .
I noticed that at some point the sound from one of the speakers was having low volume , but it got balanced at around 26 minutes. Not that I am complaining for the quality of the upload , I am glad that I can hear this ( un-kown to me until some months ago) band

Didn't Quasar used to play The Howff and do a couple of Rush covers? May be wrong as it's a long time ago!!

great scottish band. i still have the cassette of this, which originaly is simply called "CHASAR". They also recorded a bbc session in 1983 for the friday rock show.
Stew Marshall
I saw this band several times in the Burns Bar in Falkirk in the 1980's. At that time I thought they were a very good live act with leanings towards Rush. Their encore was a Led Zep' medley which was delivered with power and intensity. I love the memories, thanks for the upload.

Yep I was going to say I hear a huge Rush influence especially in 'Visions Of Time'.
Steve Bello
First time hearing this band, pretty cool stuff! Main riff to "Gypsy Roller" is "Smoke On The Water" in another key :)

I remember been a kid of 10 yrs old finding this classic for 50p in a secondhand bargain bin ..the power of that opening track has had me hooked ever since ..

I saw Chasar in the Regent Pub in Blackburn, Lancashire in the mid 80's. Absolutely awesome. I played with a local prog rock band called BlyndeSyde in Blackburn at the time. A real shame we couldn't have played on the same bill. Still one of my favourite gigs. Sadly my lead guitarist Barry Oldale is no longer with us. He was a local legend and loved watching Chasar. He was with me that night. Ah, great memories!
