Having achieved airplay success straight off the bat, the 18 year-old is wasting no time flirting on the fringe of what her first single elicited. Celebrated singer-songwriter Andre Scheepers, along with multi-SAMA-winning producer Crighton Goodwill, signed up to assist in casting a solid foundation or one of 2012’s most exciting debut albums.
Her second single “Walking Away” showcases another side of Chianosky’s diverse musical inspiration. From pop sensibility to beautiful ballad, each of the more than 10 tracks that will make up her soon-to-be-released EMI MUSIC debut album is fast becoming one of the year’s most anticipated debuts.
The song showcases Chianosky’s love of structured jazz and blues, tempered with sexy highs and playful lows. With the maturity of Ella Fitzgerald and the sultry grit of the late-great Amy Winehouse, Chianosky’s voice disarms and then immediately embraces the listener – all without missing a beat. “I’m super-excited about it all,” she says of the year ahead. If there are any hitmaking predictions to be made, this out-of-the-box bombshell is one tipped to live up to buzz of excitement building around the release of Chianosky’s soon-to-be-released full-length album.
Chianosky’s a complete package, from the conception of each song, the album artwork, through to the choreography that forms part of her live performance – every aspect of the creative process is informed by her talent. “I’m curious to see the reactions to what people hear,” she says of fans responding to her complete songbook.
Twitter has been buzzing from the radio play of “Sick Sick” and “Walking Away”. Each song on the album is different to the next and
shows a different side of my voice – a piece of a bigger puzzle that when pieced together tells the whole tale.”
Passion and ability converge when Chianosky sings. “My curiosity and keenness to take my music to wherever it’s welcomed is the next step.”
I’m super-excited about it all,” she says. Besides wanting to write with other artists and perform with even more, this out-of-the-box bombshell is tipped to explode, and when she does the ripple effects will be lapped up far beyond our borders.

Then you're walking away
You wanna hold my hand baby
But you're too scared to say it
You say you love me, love me
That you need me, need me
Then show it, I'll know it
If falling is so easy
Then why am I crying
It's not suposed to be like this
I wanna know my place
Come on invide my space
I wanna feel like I'm needed, I'm needed
by you
I wanna know what it feels like
to be haunted by you, Oh!
I wanna know what it feels like
to be wanted by you
You kiss me honey
like you want me to stay,
Love is so hard to get
but so quick to throw away
You say you want me, want me
That you crave me, crave me
Then show it, I'll know it
Like a moth to a flame
It's not a game for the sane
It's not supposed to be like this
I wanna understand
Wanna do what I can
I wanna feel like I'm needed, I'm needed
by you
I wanna know what it feels like
to be haunted by you, Oh!
I wanna know what it feels like
to be wanted by you, Oh!
Just touch and go
And it's killing me, killing me,
Running so fast to nowhere
It's not just a phase
We cannot erase
What we have, What we have
I wanna know what it feels like
to be haunted by you, Oh!
I wanna know what it feels like
to be wanted by you, Oh!
I wanna know what it feels like
to be haunted by you, Oh!
The lyrics of ChianoSky's song Walking Away depict the emotional turmoil of being in a relationship with someone who is inconsistent in their affection. The singer is constantly receiving mixed signals from her partner - one moment they express their love and desire for her, but the next they are pushing her away. The chorus repeats the desire to be wanted and needed by her partner, creating a contrast between her longing for a stable relationship and the chaotic reality she is faced with.
The lyrics also reflect the painful experience of falling for someone and realizing that it is not reciprocated. The line "If falling is so easy, then why am I crying" expresses the confusion and hurt that comes with unrequited love. The singer wants to understand why her partner is so hesitant to fully commit to their relationship and communicate their feelings.
Overall, the lyrics of Walking Away convey a sense of frustration and sadness but also a yearning for connection and understanding in a relationship.

First heard this in 2012 when I was in grade 9, on Kfm. It became an anthem ilat home, even my mom fell in love with it. Looking back those were truly some of my best years. I'm still in love with the song. It connects me to parts of myself that I've forgotten about over the years. Exactly what good music should do.
