"This was one of those tracks I wanted to do for such a long time, but it took me forever to workout how to make it happen. Firstly I needed to get the Clannad people onboard and reassure them that I wasn't going to mangle the epic 'Theme From Harrys Game' from which 'Saltwater' was derived. The secondly I wanted Moya Brennen from Clannad to come and sing some new toplines and front the track.
Thankfully it all came together. The Video was also memorable, we shot in several locations, Gatecrasher's venue in Sheffield, a big glass marine tank in a studio in London and last but not least on Woolacombe beach near Devon" (Nicholas Bracegirdle, 2008)
'Saltwater' reached the #6 position on the UK Singles Chart and became a popular dance track in clubs across Europe. Possibly the most sucessfull Chicane production so far.

The lyrics to CHICANE & MAIRE BRENNAN's song "Saltwater" are a mix of Irish and English language. The first four lines of the song are sung in Irish followed by an English translation, "Open my eyes." The repetitive lines "Fol lol the doh fol the day" provide a hypnotic quality to the song in conjunction with the electronic beats. The theme of the song is about finding solace in the natural world, particularly in the ocean. The lyrics seem to imply that the ocean can help one to escape the complexities of everyday life and find peace.
The Irish lyrics of the song translate to "Open my eyes, bigger. Listen to us, swimming in saltwater." The phrase "Open my eyes" is repeated several times throughout the song, emphasizing the importance of seeing things from a different perspective, possibly indicating a need for change or new experiences. The song talks about finding comfort and healing in saltwater, which can be a metaphor for finding healing and release from one's struggles. In the end, the song encourages listeners to listen to their surroundings and open their eyes to the beauty of nature.

+2456sunny I think the same about just 90s songs. How come so less views
on YouTube videos from the 90s? I can give three examples to give an
impression, maybe not the best examples but still: Don felix! - Hallo!
Hallo! (10k) 🤣, interphase - no one else (30k)😅 , Silver - Forever In Love (34k)🤣
,
this amount of listeners is of course not 100% correct, but still, for a
big music listening social media website as YouTube, I start to think
on what planet do we live?! LOL 😄
We have milliards or people living on this F%$#^CK planet , how come
only so less views on 90's songs, with a lot of BOOM , BOOM, BOOM. I can
understand that a lot of people dislike that kind of music and do not
think it is really the best there is, but living in the 21th century
with even less good music sometimes and also with a lot of boom boom
boom nowadays, this seems like a good alternative. Maybe people are just
not so aware/know..that this kind of music exist. Above that, I also do
not know about this music, thanks to radioseven.se I do. On my channel
radioseven still lives.😍But they are R.I.P. 💀 since just a couple of weeks.
