arabesque (real name: Michal Horák) is the producer of Chouchou's music and was born in 1979 in Tokyo to a Czech father (Jan Horák) and a Japanese mother. His father was a professor at Musashino Academia Musicae Tokyo, therefore he is a classically trained pianist who started playing at the age of three. After arabesque graduated, he traveled to Austria to devote himself to the study of the piano. He has won a number of awards in classical piano, held solo recitals, and performed in chamber and full orchestra concerts. He started composing and producing music when he was in high school and after going through many experiences, he found a new style of expressing himself artistically by starting Chouchou. He is also part of music duo Orcaorca, along with guitarist and multi-instrumentalist maya Kawadias.
juliet was born in Japan and raised in Tokyo. As a teenager, she traveled to the United States by herself in the late 90s and graduated with a BFA in fashion design from one of the world's best art universities in New York. While she was gaining experience working in the New York fashion industry after her graduation, her talent as a singer was discovered by arabesque. Together, they started Chouchou to search for new possibilities in the collaboration of music and art. She also directs the visual concept of the project, including album artwork, web design, and the design of their virtual presentations.
It is a general misconception that juliet and arabesque met through Second Life, in fact, they know each other since high school. However, they got engaged in early 2016 and married at the end of the year. She gave birth to their daughter in late March 2018 and to their son in 2020.

The lyrics to "LUNARIA" by Chouchou speak of a person who cannot see themselves in a mirror that they dropped. However, they feel like disappearing entirely if the light shines on them. They are feeling overwhelmed by the brightness of the light around them and feel like their heart is disappearing along with it. The second verse speaks of pitiful fish that drown in the moonlight, but their true form is revealed when the light disappears. The singer asks for someone to hold their hand in fear and keep them company until they fall asleep.
The third verse speaks of planting lovelies in the sky once it's clear, with the far-off land glowing with light. The monochrome night is now colored, and the singer is no longer afraid. The fourth verse speaks of a voice calling out to the singer in the silent darkness, and the voice of a beast that eats away at sleep echoes through the night. The songwriter again asks to be taken to a place where the light waits, and their heart is stolen, and they never want to leave.
