If I should die before I wake
It's 'cause you took my breath away
Losing you is like living in a world with no air, oh
I'm here alone, didn't wanna leave
My heart won't move, it's incomplete
But how
Do you expect me, to live alone with just me?
'Cause my world revolves around you
It's so hard for me to breathe
Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no air?
Can't live, can't breathe with no air
That's how I feel whenever you ain't there
There's no air, no air
Got me out here in the water so deep
Tell me how you gon' be without me?
If you ain't here I just can't breathe
There's no air, no air
No air air, No air air
I walked, I ran, I jumped, I flew right off
The ground and float to you
There's no gravity to hold me down, for real
But somehow I'm still alive inside
You took my breath but I survived
I don't know how but I don't even care
So how do you expect me to live alone with just me?
'Cause my world revolves around you
It's so hard for me to breathe
Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no air?
Can't live, can't breathe with no air
That's how I feel whenever you ain't there
There's no air, no air
Got me out here in the water so deep
Tell me how you gon' be without me?
If you ain't here I just can't breathe
There's no air, no air
No air air, No air air
Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no air?
Can't live, can't breathe with no air
That's how I feel whenever you ain't there
There's no air, no air
Got me out here in the water so deep
Tell me how you gon' be without me?
If you ain't here I just can't breathe
There's no air, no air
No air air, No air air
Got me here out in the water so deep
Tell me how you goin' be without me?
If you ain't here I just can't breathe
There's no air, no air
No air air, no air air
The lyrics to Chris Brown's song "No Air" are about the loss of someone he loves and the impact it has on his life. The opening line, "Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no air?" highlights the overwhelming feeling of pain and loss from losing someone so important. Brown sings about the physical and emotional effect of losing his loved one. He says that losing this person is like living in a world with no air - everything becomes difficult and unbearable. Brown's lyrics express his desire for the person he loves, as his world revolves around them, and he is unable to imagine a life without them.
The song's chorus is repeated several times, emphasizing the feeling of despair that comes with the loss of a loved one. Brown says that he is lost and incomplete without his loved one and doesn't know how to survive without them. He even compares his love to surviving in a world with no gravity, and yet he is still alive. The lyrics show the intense, undeniable love that Brown feels for his partner and how he can't imagine living without them.

I feel the same way every time I come back to this video. It was a time when music videos captured the fun and positive parts of life, not the evil parts that are constantly glorified today .. things hit so different back then.. 😭
