In 2008, after five solo album releases, and nine with Passion, Tomlin made the move from Texas to Atlanta to be a worship leader for Giglio’s new church, Passion City Church, with its first service being held in February of 2009. Tomlin has since released four solo worship albums, two Christmas albums, and one live album.
In 2013, Tomlin’s seventh album Burning Light debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart, becoming only the fourth album by a Christian artist to top that chart, along with Butterfly Kisses (Shades of Grace) by Bob Carlisle, You Light Up My Life by LeeAnn Rimes, both in 1997, and TobyMac's Eye On It in 2012.

I love Russell’s voice on this song. It reminds me of what it would sound like if John Mayer would write a worship song, just the way the guitar feels and the way the track feels. I was raised as Christian but didn't understand what "Christianity" really meant for me in my life, until such time that I felt empty about everything. Shean, you have a great testimony of what Jesus did for you. God gives us our testimony which not only is unique to each of us individually, but no one can take it away because we belong to Jesus now. He paid for our ransom with his blood (life). I myself wasn't rsised in a strong Christian home, and began searching for the meaning of life at about 7 yrs old. My search took me to the age of 19 when I heard the most beautiful story at work of how jesus is coming again. Within a few weeks, God saved a young man from a life of alcohol, drugs, and living a sinful life. Praise God it's been 45 years now and my life in Jesus is so wonderful. One day we will see him face to face and thank him, but until then, others need to hear our testimony of God's grace in our life. Stay strong in Jesus, God bless!
