Take Me Higher
Cisco Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
you come through
ease my troubled mind.
Just like a palm tree
you throw shade and
wave goodbye
Take me away
Take me away
Take me away to paradise.
Just like a calm sea
you float my boat as I sail on by
Just like a lost beach
take me away to paradise.
Take me away
Take me away to paradise.
Take me away
Take me away to paradise.
Just like an old friend
I never want to lose your sight
I know that you can
make everything feel alright...
Take me away
Take me away to paradise.
Take me away
Take me away to paradise.
Take me away
Take me away to paradise.
Take me away
Take me away to paradise.
The lyrics of Cisco's song "Take Me Higher" express a yearning for escape and a desire to find a better place. The singer hopes to be taken to paradise, a place where all their troubles can be left behind. The imagery used in the song compares the feeling of being taken away to paradise with that of a cool breeze, a palm tree casting shade, a calm sea, and a lost beach. These images all evoke a sense of peace and tranquility, further emphasizing the singer's desire to escape any sources of stress.
The chorus, which repeats the line "Take me away to paradise," serves as a sort of mantra, amplifying the singer's desire for escape. The final stanza introduces the idea of the person the singer is addressing (possibly a love interest) as an "old friend" who makes everything feel alright. This helps to ground the song's abstract idea of paradise in a real-life relationship, making it clear that the singer isn't just looking for an escape, but also for a sense of connection and comfort.
Overall, "Take Me Higher" is a song about yearning for a better place, both physically and emotionally. The use of vivid imagery and repetition helps to convey the singer's intense desire for escape and transport the listener into the mindset of wanting to be taken away to paradise.
