Human Nature

Across the night-time
The city winks a sleepless eye
Hear her voice
Shake my window
Sweet seducing sighs
Get me out
Four walls won't hold me tonight
If this town
Is just an apple
Then let me take a bite
If they say
Why, why, tell 'em that is human nature
Why, why, does he do me that way
If they say
Why, why, just tell 'em that is human nature
Why, why, does he do me that way
Reaching out
To touch a stranger
Electric eyes are everywhere
See that girl
She knows I'm watching
She likes the way I stare
If they say
Why, why, tell 'em that is human nature
Why, why, does he do me that way
If they say
Why, why, just tell 'em that is human nature
Why, why, does he do me that way
I like livin' this way
I like lovin' this way
Looking out
Across the morning
The city's heart begins to beat
Reaching out
I touch her shoulder
I'm dreaming of the street
If they say
Why, why, tell 'em that is human nature
Why, why, does he do me that way
If they say
Why, why, tell 'em that is human nature
Why, why, does he do me that way
If they say
Why, why, tell 'em that is human nature
Why, why, does he do me that way
If they say
Why, why, tell 'em that is human nature
Why, why, does he do me that way
The song "Human Nature" by Claudette Ortiz features captivating lyrics that revolve around the universal theme of human behavior and attraction. The opening verse sets the scene by describing the sleepless nature of the city at night and the allure it holds. The singer then goes on to express the yearning to break free from their confined surroundings and explore the world outside. However, this comes with its own set of challenges, as the singer is tempted by the electric eyes of strangers and the sweet seductive sighs of a woman's voice, leading to a sense of confusion and uncertainty.
The chorus of the song "Human Nature" provides an interesting anecdote about human behavior. It implies that our actions are unpredictable and at times, confusing, and we may not always understand why we act the way we do. The line "Why, why, does he do me that way" portrays a sense of frustration and powerlessness that the singer feels when dealing with matters of the heart. It suggests that despite the complexities of human nature, ultimately, we have little control over our emotions and how they manifest themselves in our behavior.
Overall, "Human Nature" by Claudette Ortiz is a thought-provoking song that explores the nuances of human behavior and attraction. It highlights the complexity of our emotions and the challenges we face when trying to make sense of them.
