Word die eensaamheid te veel
Vind jy dalk net iemand
Is hul dikwels lank reeds voort
The lyrics of Coenie De Villiers's song "Die Hart" explore the themes of longing for companionship, the challenges and vulnerability of love, and the healing power of time and distance. The first verse talks about the desire to find shelter from loneliness and to find someone to share life with. However, the subsequent line suggests that love often falters and is hindered by the passage of time, leaving only memories and regret behind.
The second verse questions the durability of love and suggests that reaching out to someone may not always lead to lasting connections. The game of love becomes tiresome, and believers in love are astonished by the disillusionment they encounter. Despite these challenges, the chorus highlights that there is something stronger than love that can mend wounds and bridge the divide caused by love's complexities.
The repeated chorus emphasizes the idea that time and distance can alleviate the pain in one's heart and provide solace. It acknowledges that separation and farewells can also bring relief to a person's heart.
In summary, the song "Die Hart" reflects on the search for companionship, the pitfalls of love, and the potential for healing through time and distance. It resonates with themes of longing, vulnerability, and the bittersweet nature of romantic relationships.

Eendag soek jy skuiling
One day you seek refuge
Word die eensaamheid te veel
When loneliness becomes too much
Vind jy dalk net iemand
You might find someone
Om jou lewe mee te deel
To share your life with
Maar herlaas die liefde struikel
But unfortunately, love stumbles
Oor die drumpel van die tyd
Over the threshold of time
Al wat daarna oorbly
All that remains afterwards
Is herinnering en verwyt
Is memory and reproach
Maar daar is wel iets sterker
But there is indeed something stronger
Wat die wonde tog kan heel
That can still heal the wounds
That can build a bridge over the years
Al is die liefde diep verdeel
Even if love is deeply divided
Ja bring die tyd verwydering sal die hart die pyn verlig
Yes, with time, distance will alleviate the heartache
And the distance that separation brings will ease the human heart
O sal die mens se hart verlig
Oh, will it soothe the human heart
Maar glo jy dit sal voortgaan?
But do you believe it will continue?
Is die duur van liefde kort?
Is the duration of love short?
As jy na iemand uitreik
When you reach out to someone
Is hul dikwels lank reeds voort
They often have already moved on
Dis ‘n spel wat gou verveel
It's a game that quickly becomes tiresome
En die spelers is maar skaars
And the players are scarce
Belief then becomes a spectacle that astonishes believers
Ja bring die tyd verwydering sal die hart die pyn verlig
Yes, with time, distance will alleviate the heartache
And the distance that separation brings will ease the human heart
Sal die mens se hart verlig
Will the human heart be relieved
Ja bring die tyd verwydering sal die hart die pyn verlig
Yes, with time, distance will alleviate the heartache
And the distance that separation brings will ease the human heart
O sal die mens se hart verlig
Oh, will it soothe the human heart
