Tell Him
Colbie Caillat Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Let me be patient, let me be kind
Make me unselfish without bein' blind
Though I may suffer, I'll envy it not
And endure what comes, 'cause he's all that I got and tell him

Tell him I need him
Tell him I love him
And it'll be alright

And tell him
It'll be alright
It'll be alright

Now I may have faith, to make mountains fall
But if I lack love, then I am nothin' at all
If I can give away, everything I possess
But I'm without love then I have no happiness
I know I'm imperfect and not without sin
But now that I'm older all childish things end and tell him

Tell him I need him
Tell him I love him and
It'll be alright

Tell him
It'll be alright
It'll be alright

I'll never be jealous
And I won't be too proud
'Cause love is not boastful
Ooh and love is not loud

Tell him I need him
Tell him I love him
Everything is gonna, gonna be alright
Ooh,
Ooh,

Now I may have wisdom and knowledge on earth
But if I speak wrong, ooh, then what is it worth?
See what we now know is nothing compared
To the love that was shown when our lives were spared and tell him

Tell him I need him
Tell him I love him and
It'll be alright

Tell him
It'll be alright
It'll be alright and

Tell him
It'll be alright

It'll be alright
Ooh

The Bible verse 1 Corinthians 13 brought me here, while I was reading I remembered this song. I knew this song was talking about God and it is very special to me. Thank you, thank you 🕊

@ScotlynRhys

This is one artist who is pure, clean in her music and enjoyable for everyone. This is the type of music you'd wanna listen to on a hot summer day with that special someone, or solo...either way it's awesome!

@ThatwasTERRIBLE

This is actually a cover of the classic Lauryn Hill song off of one of the greatest albums of all time The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. This is good but the original is filled with so much heart. Colbie is actually a huge Lauryn Hill fan. She used to listen to her as a kid all the time. That's most likely why she covered the song.

@Rachellex33

her voice is so soothing all her song's relate to us !

@meggo179

I actually want this song played at my wedding one day. I know it's about the Lord, but this verse in Corinthians is all about how one should love and show the type of love that the Lord showed us, and hopefully he places a man in my life who thinks this verse is just as important as I do.

@bakeroy1414

I love this song. It's so peaceful and sweet and it is such a sweet prayer.
