Confession
Cold Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Everybody loves stars
Everyone fell
Into her world she made here
Where everybody rates love

But I don't care
'Cause it's her world, she made me
You think your half as good as me
The only thing you'll ever be

Is just a way for me to bleed
On this stage

Everybody loves stars
Everyone fell
Into her world she made here
Where innocence is taken

But I don't care
'Cause it's her world, she made me

Now she's old
She's been blessed
Take a bow
And confess

She threw it all away
My angel died that day

No one came
No one cared

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Cold's song "Confession" is about a woman who creates her own world where love is rated and innocence is taken. The singer acknowledges that he doesn't care about this world, as it belongs to her and she made him a part of it. He also brags that no one is as good as he is, and everyone else is merely there to serve as a way for him to express himself and bleed on stage.

As the song progresses, the woman grows older and is seemingly successful and blessed. However, an event in her life causes her to throw everything away, and as a consequence, the singer's "angel" dies, and he is left alone with no support from anyone.

The lyrics reflect the theme of loneliness, isolation, and the consequences of constructing a world that is centered around oneself. The lines, "No one came, no one cared" signify that when a person builds a world that revolves around them, there is a high chance that there will be no one there to support when things go wrong.

This a real band. So sad this generation will never feel the message in this song. Cold are one of the best

Jennifer Faus

My daughter will. She's 21 and she LOVES Cold. She got that from Mom and Dad

"This Generation" is more favorable to Nu Metal than the last couple ones actually. Nu Metal is being "critically reassessed" or whatever it's called. It's cool to like it again is the gist of that.
