Originally from Detroit, Michigan, the six original members were Keith Staten, Fred Hammond, Mitchell Jones, Karl Reid, Michael Brooks, and Michael Williams. In 1991 Staten and Brooks left the group and were replaced by Marvin Sapp, Maxx Frank, and Eddie Howard, Jr.. By 1994 Howard had left the group and Williams left a year later. Hammond also left to pursue a career with the group Radical For Christ. He was replaced by Montrell Darrett. By 2000, Marcus Cole and Chris Poole had taken the place of Sapp and Darrett on the group's last studio album. In 2002 Commissioned released a reunion album which brought back most of the group's former members and featured most of its greatest hits. The group performed live on stage during the 2002 Stellar Awards in Atlanta, Georgia.
(2) An urban Black gospel band with crossover appeal, Commissioned are an extremely evangelistic group in concert who put on such a dramatic show that the altars are routinely packed with repenters following their performances. Members Fred Hammond, Keith Staten, Michael Brooks and Marvin Sapp have all done many successful solo projects as well. They spent most of the '90s pursuing those careers, but found themselves back together in 2001 for a reunion tour and the first of another successful series of albums. ~ Bil Carpenter, Rovi

You can't tell it, oh let me tell it
Get all worked up, go tell somebody and if they look at you a little
Strange
Tell 'em "let me tell it!"
Oh oh oh
I remember the day when I was all confused
Then came you, to my rescue, and improved my way of living
I remember the day, peace I could not find
There was change on my soul, and change in my mind
And then came you, and you had the key
You loosed all my burdens, and set me free, yeah
I can't sit down when I think of his touch
When I think if his goodness, how he loves me so much
Then I get a real good feeling
From my head down to my feet
That's when I raise up both of my hands
And I get up out of my seat, yeah
I remember the day when I was feeling low
Had no money in my pocket, and no place to go
Then came you, you gave to me
A sense of worth and security, yeah
I don't really understand how you can sit down in your seat, and not
At least raise your hands
All the things he's done for you, everything he's brought you through
In the times when we're not faithful he has still be true
I can't sit down when I think of his touch
When I think if his goodness, how he loves me so much
Then I get a real good feeling
From my head to my feet
I must raise up my hands
And get out of my seat
Oh oh oh yeah
Wait a minute
Tell me yeah (What the lord has done for you)
Oh, tell me yeah (What the lord has done for you)
Tell the world, oh yeah (What the lord has done for you)
Ohh, shout it on the hill (What the lord has done for you)
Hey you can't tell it, let me tell it (What the lord has done for me)
I must tell somebody (What the lord has done for me)
I must go tell it on the mountain (What the lord has done for me)
And I must tell it in the valley (What the lord has done for me)
When I think of his goodness, and all he's done for me, I've got to tell
It (Tell it)
Just tell it (Tell it)
In the morning (Tell it)
In the new day (Tell it)
Your love is goodness (Your love is goodness)
Your love is mercy (Your love is mercy)
His love is kindness (Your love is kindness)
Ohhhh (Your live is goodness)
I've got to tell it (Your love is goodness)
Your love is mercy (Your love is mercy)
His love is kindness (Your love is kindness)
And it's faithfulness (Your love is goodness)
Tell it (Tell it)
Oh yeah (Tell it)
Tell 'em it's goodness (Tell it)
Tell 'em he's holy (Tell it)
Tell 'em he's holy (Your love is goodness)
Tell 'em he's holy (Your love is mercy)
Your love is mercy (Your love is kindness)
The song Let by Commissioned is a passionate testimony of how the Lord has transformed the life of the singer. The song begins with an exclamation that after everything that God has done for him, it is impossible to stay silent. He remembers how he was lost and had nowhere to go until Jesus became his sense of worth and security. The chorus emphasizes the feeling of joy and gratitude that the singer experiences when he thinks about the love and goodness of the Lord, and how it compels him to raise his hands and get up from his seat. The song ends with a call to action, inviting the listener to join in celebrating the goodness of the Lord and sharing the good news with others.
Overall, Let is a powerful and inspiring song of worship and testimony that reminds us of the transformative power of faith and the joy that comes from experiencing the love and mercy of God.
