There's No Excuse
Commissioned Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You were abused throughout your childhood
You had no one you could rely on

You cried out loud for help.
No one could seem to tell you were in trouble
No one came to your rescue

Now you say your life has been one
Big mistake and happiness is always far away
There′s one thing you should remember
No matter what the situation there is no
Excuse that is good enough for you to lose your soul

AH AH AH AH AH AH AH You found someone
You found someone to love forever
So you got married to spend your lives together

Bond between two hearts
Somehow is torn apart and now it's over
You feel your life has ended OOHOOH

Now you say your life is one big

Mistake and happiness is always far away
Hold on, there′s one thing you should remember
No matter what your situation
There is no excuse that is good enough for you to lose your soul

What good is it too gain the whole world

And lose your soul
What good is it too know the healer and never be made whole
What good is it to magnify, for an album you may have
You steal someone who needs the
Saviour, whether life's been good or bad
You say your life has been one big mistake
And happiness is always far away
There's one thing you should remember

No matter what your situation, there′s no excuse
That is good enough for you to lose your soul.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Commissioned's song There's No Excuse convey a message of hope and encouragement to anyone who may be struggling with difficult life circumstances or feel like they are on the brink of losing their faith. The song tells the tale of someone who has endured abuse, trauma and disappointment in life, but has found solace in the love of another person, only to have that bond shattered. Despite these apparent setbacks, the lyrics remind the listener that they should not let these setbacks cause them to give up on their faith, as no situation or circumstance is a good enough excuse for losing one's soul.

The song encourages the listener to hold on and remember that no matter what they may be going through, there is always hope and a way out. The lyrics offer a steadfast reminder that people should always strive to do what's right, even when they feel like hope is lost, and that they should never let their life circumstances make them lose sight of who they are or who they could become.

The song is a call to action for people who may be struggling with their faith, reminding them that they are not alone and that they can be strong, despite whatever obstacles come their way. It encourages listeners to reflect on their personal experiences and draw strength from their own resilience and ability to overcome adversity.

As soon as I woke up this morning and after thinking of a lot of things to make me regret my past, I had to listen to this song. Such a great and encouraging message that I have never forgotten. No matter what your situation, there is no excuse that is good enough for you to lose your soul.

@TheQuantum09

VERY personal song. I never heard a song get THAT personal with a soul. That's why I like it. Nobody ministers like that anymore. It seems like majority of songs today only speak prosperity. There's nothing wrong with that; however, there are people in the world who actually go through extreme situations like this and need the word of the Lord to minister to them.
