Originally from Detroit, Michigan, the six original members were Keith Staten, Fred Hammond, Mitchell Jones, Karl Reid, Michael Brooks, and Michael Williams. In 1991 Staten and Brooks left the group and were replaced by Marvin Sapp, Maxx Frank, and Eddie Howard, Jr.. By 1994 Howard had left the group and Williams left a year later. Hammond also left to pursue a career with the group Radical For Christ. He was replaced by Montrell Darrett. By 2000, Marcus Cole and Chris Poole had taken the place of Sapp and Darrett on the group's last studio album. In 2002 Commissioned released a reunion album which brought back most of the group's former members and featured most of its greatest hits. The group performed live on stage during the 2002 Stellar Awards in Atlanta, Georgia.
(2) An urban Black gospel band with crossover appeal, Commissioned are an extremely evangelistic group in concert who put on such a dramatic show that the altars are routinely packed with repenters following their performances. Members Fred Hammond, Keith Staten, Michael Brooks and Marvin Sapp have all done many successful solo projects as well. They spent most of the '90s pursuing those careers, but found themselves back together in 2001 for a reunion tour and the first of another successful series of albums. ~ Bil Carpenter, Rovi
don't worry
Commissioned Lyrics

We've come too far to give up now
Don't Worry (No don't you worry)
Though the pressures of life seem to trap you inside
Be encouraged (My friend be encouraged)
Remembering times past
He brought you through when you thought you would not last
Mentain ability is God's opportunity
Like veterans weep times of joy and suffering
He loves you always thinking of you
Maintain your faith though you pray in agony is not in vain
(He will ease the pain)
Remembering in times past
He brought through when you thought you would not last
So put your mind as ease
Maintain ability is God's opportunity
It's not always easy for us to be patient in our experience
One thing for sure if we endure
There will be deliverance
Don't you fret, don't worry
Don't worry, don't you fret
Jesus will bring you through
Don't worry, don't you worry
He'll be there to see about you
Don't worry, no need to worry
Jesus will bring you through
Don't worry, don't you worry
He'll be there to see about you
Don't worry, no need to worry
When your life is in despair
Just cast upon Him every care
For your burdens He will bear
Just cry out he will answer prayer
No need to worry
Tell Jesus all about it
In spite of all odds
I'm gonna put my trust in you
No need say
No need to worry
You gotta know him for yourself
You can't count on no-one else
No need to worry
Jesus willl bring you through
Don't worry, don't you worry
When trouble come your way
Get down on your knees and pray
Tell Jesus all about it
Jesus will bring you through
Don't worry, don't u worry
The song "Don't Worry" by Commissioned is a call to encourage anyone feeling the pressures of life that may seem too heavy to bear. The singer emphasizes on the perspective that even though life's circumstances may seem hard, one should never give up because God has brought us through past moments when we thought we wouldn't make it. At one point, the lyrics state that "maintain ability is God's opportunity", meaning that while it may be challenging to have faith in difficult situations, it is an opportunity for God to demonstrate His power and bring deliverance. The song further advises not to worry or fret because Jesus will bring you through any tough times and will see about you.
The singer mentions that life can be filled with joy and suffering, drawing a parallel between war veterans' experiences. However, God's love is present in all situations, and we should maintain our faith and pray, even if it's in agony because it is never in vain. The song reminds us that it's not always easy to be patient during stressful moments, but with endurance will come deliverance. The singer encourages listeners to cast their burdens upon God and tell Him about their problems because He is always there and is ready to bear them.

Hands down! I'm telling you I was low in spirit-I began listening to these boys and now my spirit is lifted up high. I'm so in love ...with Jesus that is.

Tied with the Winans
@wakeupjudah219
I agree
@wakeupjudah219
@@mynameisirrelevant46 I love the Winans however, Commissioned got them because of the instrumental genius. The Winans stepped up when they made the CD with Paradise on it but they cooled off after that. I'd love for them to do a CD or at least one song or two together.

I had the joy of sharing the stage with these brothers a couple of times in So. Fla. Love them all, Mike Williams made my son his honorary godson. Now my son is a professional drummer.
