Together
Connie Francis Lyrics

Laughed at the rain together,
Sang love's refrain together
And we'd both pretend it would never end
But one day we cried together
Cast love aside together
You're gone from me,
But in my memory
Oh darlin' the memory
Of all the happy moments we shared together
Will always remain in my heart
The picnics at the park,
The boat rides on the lake,
The way we danced all night,
The warmth of your kiss,
The way you held me tight
Are all part of a tender love
I'll never, never forget.
You're gone from me
But in my memory,
Darlin', wherever you are,
We'll always be, together.
The song "Together" by Connie Francis is a beautiful love song that reflects on the memories of two people who were once in love and spent happy moments together. The opening verse describes a moment when they were both together, strolling on a lane, laughing at the rain and singing love's refrain together. They both pretended that their love would never end, but unfortunately, one day they cried together and cast love aside. Despite the breakup, the memories of their time together would always remain in their hearts, and they would always be together in memory.
The second verse of the song further emphasizes on the memories that they shared together, such as picnics at the park, boat rides on the lake, dancing all night, warmth of the kiss, and how the person held her tight. All these pleasant and intimate memories, which the person reminisces in her mind, are part of a lasting and affectionate love she will always remember. Though they are no longer together, the person still carries their memories in her heart, and wherever her former partner may be, they will always be together in memory.
Overall, "Together" is a poignant and reflective song that underscores the importance of memories in preserving the essence of a lost love. The lyrics may resonate well with people who have gone through breakups and are still holding onto memories of their past relationships.

We strolled the lane together
We walked together down the road
Laughed at the rain together,
We shared joy and amusement as we amused ourselves in the rain
Sang love's refrain together
As we hummed love's sweet melodies and tunes in each other's company
And we'd both pretend it would never end
We both deluded ourselves with illusions that our time together would never end
But one day we cried together
One day we experienced pain and sorrow together and shed tears for our loss
Cast love aside together
Together we gave up on the love we shared
You're gone from me,
You are no longer with me
But in my memory
Nonetheless, the memories of you still linger within me
We always will be together.
My sentimentality guarantees that in my remembrances, we will remain inseparable

Great song (theme throughout) remembered in the Movie "Since You Went Away". WWII movie about a family whose husband and father is missing in action. He left a holiday present for the wife (Claudette Colbert) , a music box playing this tune which she weeps over hysterically at the end but at the last minute comes in a phone call that he is okay and will be coming home! You never see the guy during the whole movie but the sentiment is there throughout with all the characters nonetheless. That scene and this song would make anyone cry.
