Serial Killer
Copper Lyrics

Another's hand, but you won't even turn to look my way, so i touch the windown
Pane. i can feel your face. i can feel your lips. i can feel your arms, but to
You i don't even exist. if only you knew how much i wanted to be with you, you
Crush me with your smile....
In the song Serial Killer by Copper, the singer is expressing their feelings for someone they have an intense crush on, but that person is unavailable as they are already with someone else. The singer tries to get their attention, to no avail, so they resort to touching a nearby window pane to feel the imaginary physical sensation of being with their crush. The lyric "if only you knew how much I wanted to be with you, you crush me with your smile" showcases the agony and frustration of unrequited love, displaying how the singer is emotionally crushed by the fact that their crush won't acknowledge them.
Furthermore, the overall "serial killer" theme of the song highlights the extreme lengths someone might go to when dealing with the intense pain of unrequited love. The singer states that they feel as if they don't exist to their crush, implying that they might completely disappear or harm themselves if left alone in this state for too long. The dark undertones of the song leaves listeners with a strong sense of discomfort and empathy towards those that go through these types of unrequited love stories.
