Hart became an instant hit with his rebellious looks, and his first album released in 1983 First Offense, featuring the hit song Sunglasses at Night. The album sold well in both Canada and the United States. The follow-up album was Boy in the Box in 1985, another very successful album featuring the song Never Surrender, which would be his highest-charting single. Hart would continue to record music, but his commercial success was significantly reduced after Box.
Today, Hart lives in the Bahamas with his wife, musician Julie Masse, and their four children.

Hey sister, how ya doin'?
This is the new world calling
Learn to shed your skin
Hey now the curtain's rising
I like the dancers here
I want the show to begin
I lost my mind some days
No longer crazy by the fortune teller
Or my mistakes along the way
Bang
Starting over without beginning
Don't you like it that way? (Oh)
Movin' faster like a roller coaster
Don't you like it that way?
Any season, any reason
You like it that way
Ah
Hey sister, in the jungle
I heard the quicksand laugh
The one-way river lose its flow
Look for the evil
Where the monkey's played
Just build a new garden today
'Cause
You don't have to rearrange your hair
Or the clothes you wear
And you don't have to compromise anything
Your independence is here
Go
Bang
Starting over without beginning
Don't you like it that way? (Oh)
Movin' faster like a roller coaster
Don't you like it that way?
Any season, any reason
You like it that way
You try and stand in the middle baby
But the center keeps shiftin' on you
You can't decipher every riddle baby
But there's just one thing that you can do
Go bang
Starting over without beginning
Don't you like it that way? (Oh)
Movin' faster like a roller coaster
Don't you like it that way?
Go bang
Oh sweet dreams are made of (oh)
Any season
Any reason
You like it that way
Bang
The song "Bang!" by Corey Hart is an upbeat and energetic tune that encourages listeners to embrace change and new beginnings. The song opens with Hart addressing someone, presumably his sister, and urging her to let go of her past and shed her skin in order to embrace the new world. He expresses his own frustration with politics and mental health, and declares that he is starting over without a beginning, as if to say that each day is a fresh start. He likens life to a roller coaster, emphasizing the excitement and unpredictability of the journey, and encourages listeners to embrace any season or reason.
Hart uses vivid imagery throughout the song, referring to quicksand and monkeys playing in a jungle, and suggesting that we can build a new garden even when faced with evil. He emphasizes the importance of individuality and independence, urging listeners to be true to themselves and not compromise for anyone else. The chorus is a simple, catchy refrain that repeats the title of the song: "Bang! Starting over without beginning. Don't you like it that way? Movin' faster like a roller coaster. Don't you like it that way? Any season, any reason. You like it that way."
Overall, "Bang!" by Corey Hart is a song about embracing change and living life to the fullest, despite its challenges and uncertainties. Hart's lyrics and catchy melody encourage listeners to let go of their past and embrace each new day with open arms.

Such an underrated album. Top three are Boy In The Box, Bang!, then Fields of Fire. Young Man Running is a solid fourth.

I don't remember ever hearing this on US radio stations back in 1990. Such a shame too cuz it's a terrific track & always been one of my fav songs from his G/H album.
