Si tú me odias quedare yo convencido
Si tú me odias quedare yo convencido
In Cristian Castro's song "Odiame," the singer asks to be hated. He begs for the person he loves to hate him without limits and without mercy because he thinks hate is more desirable than indifference. The reason for this is that hate, according to the singer, means that the person indeed loved him with persistence. He believes that hate is a stronger emotion than indifference, which is why he prefers it. But he also warns that hate only comes from love, and in the end, hate is not stronger than forgetting.
The second verse starts with the same line, asking the person to hate him because he wants to feel loved. He says that if the person hates him, he will be convinced that they loved him with persistence. But then he warns that hate only comes from loving someone, meaning that the person he loves knows they love him. The last verse talks about the worth of things, saying that compared to his humility, the person's beauty is weak. He goes on to talk about how everything is equal in death, and that everyone will wear the same clothing. The message of the song is clear - love and hate come from the same place, and in the end, the only thing that matters is the connection between two people.
