His songs were performed by various singing stars: Vikki Carr, Pedro Infante, Miguel Aceves Mejía, Amalia Mendoza and Chavela Vargas. His recording career began in 1937 but did not get pubic recognition until 1939. The singer / songwriter became actor, as well. In all, he composed nearly 200 songs, including numbers for some of the movies he acted in. The popular composer and singer died of liver failure on 6 October 2000, in Mexico City.

Está canción la conocí por la película La escondida con el gran Pedro Armendáriz y María Félix, Cuco Sánchez también sale en esa película y en una escena melancólica sale de fondo cantando esta canción. Busquenla por favor, eso sí es cultura, esa si era música, esas si eran películas y ellos si eran artistas dignos de seguir y de admirar.
