Curren$y had an underground hit in 2006, Where Da Cash At, which can be heard on several of Lil' Wayne's mixtapes, including Dedication 2. He was featured on Lil Wayne's song "Grown Man" from the album Tha Carter II. Due to certain issues concerning the release of his album Music 2 Fly 2, he left Young Money and formed his Fly Society crew with professional skateboarder and rapper Terry Kennedy.
He has since focused on his Jets movement, which helped introduce various rappers such as Trademark da Skydiver, Young Roddy, Fendi P and T.Y., as well as slightly reintroduce No Limit veteran Fiend to new audiences. He later started to work in New York with Ski Beatz and other MCs at Dame Dash's DD172; where he released Pilot Talk and its sequel Pilot Talk II both in 2010, and was also featured on several songs on Ski Beatz' 24 Hour Karate School. Since then, Curren$y has put out eight more albums, 25 EPs and 43 mixtapes.

These coupes is movin'
Through busy traffic they maneuverin', like it ain't nothin' to em
As a youngin, I was inducted into a serious unit
The training was grueling
Mafia grooming, schooled on how to be the Don
So when I got on one day, I'd be used to it and know what I'm doin'
Cause the stakes is high and nowadays you get killed from lookin' stupid
Infrared goggles and all kind of Call of Duty shit
They tryna take you off of here
And I'm online ordering an office chairs
Get high all the time off the California finest
No I don't own Balenciagas, but all of my weed designer
Every [?] night lemonade, cold vodka and sprite
I get what I like
Blowin' one hunnids all night and making it all back tonight
This is the life
They gonna need drone footage to really get to it
They gonna need drone footage to really get to it
They gonna need drone footage to really get to it
They gonna need drone footage to really get to it
In "Drone Footage," Curren$y discusses the luxurious and high-stakes lifestyle he leads. The opening lines "They gonna need drone footage to really get to it" suggest that his lifestyle is so exclusive and elusive that even regular means of surveillance are insufficient to understand or capture it. The lyrics portray a sense of superiority and confidence in Curren$y's car collection and his ability to navigate through traffic effortlessly. This reflects his success and the recognition of his skills and accomplishments.
The lyrics also shed light on Curren$y's background and the influences that shaped him into who he is today. He reveals that during his youth, he was trained by a serious and disciplined group, possibly a mafia-like organization, to become a leader. The training was rigorous and groomed him to become a boss or a "Don." This upbringing, with its high stakes and constant danger, has made him alert and cautious, always aware of the threats around him. The reference to shooters in bushes with rifles and the mention of Call of Duty-like gear highlights the constant need to be vigilant and prepared for any potential danger.
The later lines shift the focus to Curren$y's indulgence in the finer things in life. He mentions ordering an office chair online, humorously juxtaposing it with the more common expectations of engaging in illegal activities. Curren$y's fondness for California's high-quality weed is emphasized, as he describes getting high all the time with the best marijuana strains. While he may not own expensive designer clothing like Balenciagas, he values the quality of his weed above all else.
Overall, "Drone Footage" paints a picture of a life lived in luxury and danger, with Curren$y embracing his role as a leader while enjoying the finer things life has to offer.
