'Cause here where I am there's always sunshine
Walk down the street now, can't find my feet now
I guess I'm acting like somebody in love
Just been with my girl, she changed my whole world
When I was lonely she come to hold me
She squeeze me so tight I'm feeling alright
Yeah, I guess I'm acting like somebody in love
Somebody in love, somebody in love
Someone who just stares at the stars up above
Somebody in love, somebody in love
I guess I'm acting like somebody in love
I lost my suitcase, can't tie my boot lace
Forgot my game plan, I don't know where I am
I lost my house key, I lost it at sea
I guess I'm acting like somebody in love, yeah
Somebody in love, somebody in love
Someone who just stares at the stars up above
Somebody in love, somebody in love
I guess I'm acting like somebody in love
It's after midnight, don't need no street light
'Cause here where I am there's always sunshine
Walk down the street now, can't feel my feet now
I guess I'm acting like somebody in love, yeah
Somebody in love, somebody in love
Someone who just stares at the stars up above
Somebody in love, somebody in love
I guess I'm acting like somebody in love
Yeah, somebody in love, somebody in love
Someone who just stares at the stars up above
Somebody in love, somebody in love
Well, I guess I'm acting like somebody in love
Oh, I guess I'm acting like somebody in love
Oh, I guess I'm acting like somebody, somebody in love
Yeah, yeah, somebody, somebody in love
Yeah, I think I'm in love, somebody in love
Oh, yeah
The lyrics of Curtis Stigers's song "Somebody In Love" convey the feeling of being deeply infatuated with someone. The singer describes a state of euphoria, where everything seems bright and sunny even during the darkest hours. This is metaphorically portrayed through the line "It's after midnight, don't need no street light, 'Cause here where I am there's always sunshine."
The song expresses the transformative power of love, as the singer shares how their whole world has changed since being with their partner. The mention of loneliness suggests that they may have felt lost or empty before, but the presence of their loved one has brought them comfort and happiness. The physical embrace is emphasized through the line "She squeeze me so tight, I'm feeling alright," capturing the warmth and reassurance of their relationship.
The lyrics also highlight the impact of love on one's mental and emotional state. The singer describes feeling disoriented and unable to function properly, using phrases like "can't find my feet now" and "forgot my game plan." This reflects the all-consuming nature of being in love, where thoughts and actions become focused on the object of affection.
Despite the confusion and disarray, the singer finds joy in this love-induced chaos. The repetition of the phrase "somebody in love" reinforces their realization that they are indeed experiencing love intensely. The connection to the stars suggests a sense of wonder and awe, as if their love is akin to a celestial phenomenon that captivates their attention.
Ultimately, the lyrics of "Somebody In Love" depict the overwhelming and transformative nature of being deeply in love. The singer's words and experiences portray the joy, clarity, and enchantment that love can bring, even when it leads to moments of confusion and disorientation.
