Watching below all that moves so fast
Plus taking on a different game
A future that was built to last
You say hello but I can't
Hold you
Does this all feel somewhat for real with what no limits to us
We can do
(Chorus)
We're making such big steps
It's got me in a spin
Are we aiming too high
Of wanting to feel your skin against my skin, my skin, my skin
Neon lights are everywhere
Lighting up the crowded streets
It brightens up my floating bed
Where I lay myself to sleep
Did you receive the kiss I sent today
Up on the box in Time Square?
How I love the once and yesterday before it vanished into thin air
(Chorus)
You're never really here
This is all a big mistake
My heart is feeling cold
I don't want to bake it
The lyrics to DJ Krush ft Kazufumi Kodama's song Day's End talks about the fast-paced life and the ever-changing future that awaits us. The song begins with the sun moving high above and observing everything that moves so fast below it. This could indicate how time flies and how everything is constantly changing. The next line mentions taking on a different game or approach towards life, possibly referring to the constant adaptation we have to make in order to keep up.
The verse then switches to the virtual world where the singer sees someone's face light up on their screen. They greet each other but cannot physically hold one another. This highlights the lack of physical intimacy in our technological age. The verse ends with the singer wondering if there are any limits to what they can do.
The chorus then begins with the singer discussing the significant steps they are taking in their lives, possibly referring to advancements in their career or personal life. They question if they are aiming too high, and express the desire to feel physical connection with another person. The second verse talks about neon lights lighting up the crowded streets and how it brightens up the singer's floating bed, referring to a dream-like state. The singer also wonders if the person they are talking to received the kiss they sent earlier on Time Square. The verse ends with a nostalgic reference to yesterday, indicating that the singer misses the past and the memories associated with it.
The final verse expresses the loneliness of the singer and how they feel that everything is a big mistake. They feel emotionally cold and don't want to "bake it" or deal with the emotional pain. This verse has a melancholic undertone and adds a layer of emotional depth to the song.
