Rooijers and Hamers met at the Utrecht School of Arts around 2014. Rooijers was studying music and composition, while Hamers was studying visual arts. They worked on art projects at school and made music in their spare time. The project began as a joke; Hein said that "we were just joking around. That kind of got really serious really quickly so..."
What began with a SoundCloud account - where they uploaded their own music and curated their favorite releases in their "Pokoe Pack" mixes - soon developed a reputation for creating impeccable percussion-heavy future bass infused with the catchiest melodies. The duo's emphasis of both the music and visuals through both members' strengths has seen them weave intricate stories through both the music and visuals.
In May 2017, they collaborated with San Holo for the song "Lines of the Broken". The next month, they released "Jump" featuring Nevve, which was then used in August in an advertisement for the Apple Watch. In 2019, they started their tour The Choices We Face, in support of their EP of same name.
On October 21, 2020, Hamers announced his departure from the project. A month later, an anthology album, A Matter of Perspective, was released.

The lyrics to DROELOE's song Bon Voyage are fairly ambiguous and open to interpretation, but they seem to be expressing a sense of confusion or frustration. The repeated phrase "Why, you asking" suggests that the singer is being questioned or challenged in some way, but they don't understand why. The interjections of "Ohh" and "Hmmmmm" further convey a sense of uncertainty or hesitancy.
It's possible that the lyrics are meant to represent the feeling of being misunderstood or not being able to express oneself clearly. The repetition of "This" could be interpreted as the singer's attempt to express a complex concept or emotion that they don't have the words for.
Overall, the lyrics to Bon Voyage are open to interpretation and could mean different things to different listeners depending on their own experiences and perspectives.

@@FalconHgv For me it was a moment in time. and it's been a long strange story. the hunt for the music that can fill your soul. Even now this is my first time listening to it. Their perspective is one I love and often look to for inspiration for myself. What I know.. what I feel.. what i understand. I hope we can all someday.. someday.
Great music. I hope I can hear more.
