DUSTZ is a Japanese rock quartet currently under Epic Records Japan (a division of Sony Music) and based in Tokyo, Japan. The name originated from a Japanese word game, since "dust" and "pride" are homonyms in Japanese ("hokori"). It also holds reference to a quote from the Ancient Testament "from dust you are made and to dust you shall return".
As childhood friends from the Lycée franco-japonais de Tokyo (a French international school in Tokyo), Ray, Gus and KenT decided to create the group in high school upon Ray's suggestion in October 2005. They did not have an official drummer until Naoki joined in 2007. They performed at various venues in Tokyo and Osaka.
Prior to their major debut, they had two releases under Be On Key Records. Their first single Future, Endless Blue, Rain ranked number 2 on the indie charts at Tower Records and their second single Lapis Lazuli ranked number 1 on the indie charts and number 3 overall at Tower Records.
DUSTZ signed under Epic Records Japan in March 2009. Their first major single Break & Peace was released in May 2009, and was used as the ending theme song for the anime Sengoku BASARA. Their first major performance was at the 28th music festival in Paris, France. They are expecting their next single in the fall and are also preparing for their first album.

存在自体に 意味失い
戻れない過去
Don't you dare to know
崩れる all things that I believe
現実見たくない 暗い日々
抜け出せない状況
Don't know where to go
Fake in this world
And"despair"is
The only truth I've got
闇を切り裂いて
忙しない
Why I must be bleeding?
逃げれない メランコリー
限界 足掻いてる 発狂寸前
Because it will never end
J'ai plus rien a croire
Cette vie qu'est-ce qu'il y a
A voir?
敵わない this suffering world!
En levant les yeux,
Il n'y a rien a faire
J'ai plus envie de me mentir a
Moi meme
Mais ces realites
Qui defoncent mon esprit
Pourquoi on vit?
Pourquoi cet endroit?
Ou aller se plaindre?
Qui me comprendra?
Ou est cette putain de verite?
S'egorger toujours
Tout le temps,
Qui voudra me faire peine a moi?
Comme quoi? Comme qui?
Comme-ci comme-ca,
Sans raison, oh dieu pourquoi?
Cette vie infernale
Continue jusqu'a ma finale
J'espere ma liberte
Ne pense pas qu'on passe
Sur un chemin etendu
C'est qu'une etape,
Et tape le chemin attendu
Ne pense pas qu'on passe
Sur un chemin etendu
C'est qu'une etape,
Et tape le chemin attendu
Ne pense pas qu'on passe
Sur un chemin etendu
C'est qu'une etape,
Et tape le chemin attendu
Personne essaye de comprendre
Ce que l'on dit
J'ai plus de dix ans!
T'es con ou quoi?
壊したい
That's my last scream!
避けれない リアリティー
No pain no gain 絶対抗戦
If really there is an end
A quoi je m'attends?
Apocalypse maintenant
変わらない this suffering world!
The lyrics of DUSTZ's song Spiral explore the struggles and confusion of a person who feels trapped in an endless night, where existence itself seems to lose its meaning. The singer of the song cannot return to the past and is unable to escape the dark and impossible situation they find themselves in. They question the worth of hope and the validity of despair as the only truth they have. The singer's confusion and desperation are highlighted in lines such as "Why I must be bleeding?" and "Do you know that 'hope' is fake in this world?"
The song conveys the singer's search for answers and meaning in their life, trying to find a way to break free from their current reality. The lyrics employ vivid imagery, such as "cutting through the darkness" and "bleeding" to represent the struggle and pain the singer is experiencing. Despite the singer's struggle, they refuse to give up and still hope for their liberation, expressed in the line "I hope for my freedom." The song ends with an acceptance that life is a journey full of steps that cannot be avoided, and the singer must continue on their path, even if it means facing an infernal existence.
