Funeral
Daddy Yankee Lyrics

Y yo le digo no
Oh, no; oh, no
Oh, no; oh, no
Oh, no; oh, no
Oh, no; oh, no
Oh, no; oh, no
Hay mal en ti, corazón
In Daddy Yankee's Funeral, the artist expresses his awareness of the malicious intentions of those around him. He cleverly uses the metaphor of his own funeral to depict the endgame of his detractors. In the first verse, he exposes the desire of his enemies to see him dead and gone. He refuses to accept their sinister wishes, instead addressing their evil hearts, telling them that there is something fundamentally wrong with them.
He goes on to state his readiness for battle, acknowledging that his opponents are similarly equipped. He warns them not to make the mistake of underestimating him or making any assumptions about his desires. In the final verse, Daddy Yankee reiterates his preparedness for any challenge, and promises that he will never bow down or relinquish his power to his adversaries.
Funeral is a powerful track that cements Daddy Yankee's reputation as an artist who speaks truth to power. The song's core message is that the fight for survival is not over until the artist surrenders. Despite the evocative lyrics, the song has a catchy, choral refrain that keeps you hooked.
