Dallas Crane Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I've stayed up all night
At rock 'n' roll's twenty four seven home
There's always a bed
Alone, or with a friend
That's how it goes
Where I belong
I'd love you to stay 'cause I just cannot close my eyes
I got a horn and an hour to kill
The lyrics of Dallas Crane's "Home" describe the life of a musician who lives and breathes rock and roll. The opening line, "I've rolled with the times," suggests that the artist has been part of the music scene for a while and had adapted to its changes. Then, the lyrics continue to highlight the musician's dedication to the rock and roll lifestyle when he says, "I've stayed up all night / At rock 'n' roll's twenty-four seven home." This line suggests that the artist is always up for more fun, and he finds an endless home in rock music.
The following lines describe how the artist finds comfort and belonging in the rock and roll lifestyle. Then, the artist declares "That's how it goes / Where I belong," indicating a sense of belonging in the rock and roll community. Finally, the chorus of the song brings it all together, as the artist invites someone to stay with him because he "just cannot close [his] eyes" due to the excitement of having a horn and an hour to kill.

I was very close to where this happened we were eating at this restaurant and actually the awning flew off the building, the winds were REALLY strong, and it hit a car. But my mom heard a huge bang, it was the crane falling and as we were leaving we saw police and all this stuff but we didn't know what it was. so yeah :)
