Addiction
Damantra Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

When you come to see me
Early in the morning
Do you think I'm here
Just to dry your tears
You are not a happy man of mine
When you call me at night
And beg me to come by your side
Do you think it's right
Do you think it's fair
To keep me as a slave
When I'm feeling lonely
And you pretend not to hear
That I need you to be here
To hold me in your arms
And tell me everything is just fine
When I knock on your door
When all I'm looking for
Is a little tenderness
Is a little happiness
Make me forget all the rest
Make me forget all the rest
Make me forget all the rest
Make me forget all the rest
Boy you used to have me under your spell
I used to be some junkie waiting for her shot

I was addicted to your face
Forget all the rest

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Damantra's song "Addiction" depict the story of an unfulfilling relationship in which one partner is not getting what she wants. The singer seems to be in a relationship where her significant other is emotionally distant and keeps her hanging. She questions the motive of her partner who wants her to be around just to comfort him but does not reciprocate the same when she is feeling lonely. Despite realizing that she is not a happy woman, he keeps calling her to come by his side. The singer is yearning for a connection, but her partner just wants to keep her as a slave. She craves tenderness and happiness, which he doesn't provide. She just wants to forget all her worries and be lost in his love, but he doesn't give her that chance.

The song captures the pain of being in a relationship where the other person is emotionally distant and keeping you in the backburner, which is not justifiable. The singer is tired of pretending that everything is fine and wants her partner to acknowledge her needs. It highlights the importance of communication in relationships and the significance of fulfilling each other's desires.

There is nothing here that clashes with
any religion. You must understand that Buddhism is not a religion but
a way of life. The Buddha(s) is not a God but a teacher. He is not
worshiped but venerated and what he teaches, the Dharma is not a
doctrine but a path to show the way to salvation. However he never
says that this is the only way, only that there are may ways and they
all merge and go to the same destination. The were and are several
Buddhas, the word means enlivened one. The first Buddha said himself
that he who worships my image does not know me.

I was just walking a trail in the woods where I have been walking for 20+ years. I asked Mother Durga to give me a (NATURE) sign if she was available for me to pray to, and had Grace for my life. About 20 mins later a baby deer came up to me and sat with me for over 10 mins!!! I FELT MOTHER DURGAS LOVE WITH ME. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭💜💜💜💜💜💜
THANK YOU SO MUCH DURGA! BLESSED IS YOUR NAME! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

@ayushighosh20

I have been bullied a lot in my life despite being a good human being. This is my transformation. Maa Durga, bless me with immense power, internal and external. Destroy negative energies and remove negative people and toxicities in my life. Bless me so that I can tackle bully and never ever be bullied again.

Edit: Back here one year later, it's so beautiful to see strangers wishing well for me. Thank you. I have been transformed. Wasn't easy but no transformation ever is. I chant this mantra everyday and I do recognise my power within. Nobody can bully you but yourself. Somehow if people do try to spread negativity around me, surrender to my strength.
