One half of the duo Perfeck Strangers with Promise, the group's debut album, "Series Premiere" dropped on URBNET Records in March 2012 and reached #1 on Canadian college radio.
His next highly anticipated and long overdue solo album, "Inevitable" is set for a 2013 release.
Dan-e-o's long-awaited second album, “See No Evil, Hear No Evil”! is out now!! On this follow-up to the successful 2000 release “The Book of Daniel”, Scarborough’s Dan-e-o (whose name, contrary to popular belief, does NOT capitalize the “E” and “O” unless, of course, the entire name is written in caps) mixes elements of funk, soul, reggae and rock with heavy doses of street battle raps and conscious-minded lyricism. Touted as one of Canada’s greatest lyricists ever, Dan-e-o is best known for his first single, “Dear Hip Hop”, which was released on Beat Factory’s RapEssentials Volume One album in 1996.
Since then, Dan-e-o has helped to establish his crew Monolith as a Canadian favourite in the world of hip-hop. Among Monolith’s members is the Juno nominated trio Irs (“Welcome to Planet Irs”) who produce and appear in “Stand Clear”. In the summer of 2004, the LP’s first single, “T.N.T.” charted on Canadian radio while its video rotated on MuchMusic, MuchVibe and MTV Canada. Next to burn up the same airwaves was the bouncy single and video “Funkbox” featuring future R&B diva, Chocolate Ty.
Juno nominated DJ Serious (“Dim Sum”) is also on board to produce the cuts “Foxy Lady” and “Amazing” featuring Juno winner Blessed (“Love”), adding elements of soul and reggae to this funk-filled LP. Popular Jamaican reggae artist (and Dan-e-o’s distant cousin) Red Rat appears in the hot club banger “Kama Sutra”, which is a huge party anthem for summer 2005. All cuts make “See No Evil, Hear No Evil” an eclectic mix of beautiful and innovative music.
“The negative images of violence, greed and ‘pimpery’ that clog the airwaves these days don’t impress everybody”, says Dan-e-o, “Mad hip-hop heads still just want to hear someone who can rap well, period”. Saying that Dan-e-o ‘raps well’ is like claiming Michael Jordan did a pretty good job of playing basketball during his career. And Dan-e-o plans to take his career to new heights with his sophomore album “See No Evil, Hear No Evil”.
Why “See No Evil, Hear No Evil”? Dan-e-o explains the album’s title: “Our world and therefore, our entertainment is often corrupt. Mad kids be emulating what they see and hear all the time. All these so-called thug rappers are really just smart, rich, businessmen. Everything I say in my music is something I can honestly say I live. And it doesn’t involve any portrayal of a negative, cruel or hurtful lifestyle. ‘See No Evil, Hear No Evil’… If you love good music, you’ll love my music”.
The LAST album from Dan-e-o, appropriately titled “Speak No Evil” is also out now!! Available exclusively on the streets and online, this LP contains hot new remixes including “Kama Sutra (Reblaze!)” and bangin’ brand new cuts like “Chocolate Love”. Following this project, Dan-e-o will be taking advantage of new and exciting career opportunities.

Raw Is War
Dan-e-o Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
War, huh (Yeah)
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Reporting live from the crib
I'm boutta grab the boys
And we finna go to war
We finna go to war
Against the opps who be oppressing
Never stressing
But we finna shoot 'em up with
Smith and Wesson, yeah
Don't give a shit about what politics say
I make a call, I'm with my army
And we'll be on the way
Finna fight for what matters
To the God I pray
These other niggas want smoke
Man, they tryna play
I'm sayin' "War"
I'm just tryna settle up the score
Finna charge into the battle
Got me feelin' like Thor
Kick down the door
This city, man
We tryna restore
I swore to make it back
To the way that it was before
Wait, hold up
You know that I be
Keeping it real
My mental depends on the bars
Like I'm signing a deal
This beat is a feel
Consistency, I'm finna unseal
I guess I never knew
This heat would be real
Besides the point, yeah
Hands up if you're tryna get your shit knocked
Pull up on niggas like
Will Smith smacking Chris Rock
Yeah, I'm a superhero, Hitchcock
That's what happens when I'm pissed off
Now I'm singing
War, huh (Yeah)
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
So, you tryna go to war?
Let me give a little rundown
Just to tell you what's in store
Leave your troops outside the door
If you fucking with my gang
Finna put you in a morgue
Nigga go and get the strap in the drawer
Oh my Lord
I'm sitting in the cockpit
Racking up the confidence
So ominous
I've been to war
Thought I made it obvious
So let me tell you
What my everlonging problem is
These opps all around me
Going out and always starting shit
Yeah, you're messing with the fucking king
So let me tell y'all something
That you're gonna regret
If I see you niggas lacking
Then blood will be shed
Put my finger on the trigger
(Baow baow) You're dead
Sing it
War, huh (Yeah)
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
War, huh (Yeah)
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
The lyrics to Dan-e-o's song "Raw Is War" depict someone who is determined to go to war against their opps who have been oppressing them. The singer does not care what the politics say and intends to go to war to fight for what matters to them. They are more concerned with settling the score and restoring the way things were before. The singer is confident that they will be victorious in the war, and anyone who messes with them will face dire consequences. Through the lyrics, Dan-e-o is highlighting the futility of war and the negative effects it has on people's lives.

@GreatestVidsEver Fair enough. I onyl listened once so i guess its not fair to judge. It just sorta pissed me off that they have that oh-so-common "Bitches and parties" mentality. It just seems shallow and messed up to me. I guess i did enjoy some of their stuff though.
