Where I Started
Danger Radio Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Bring me back to where I started
Tell me how I got so lost
Bring me back to days uncharted
Oh won't you to tell me how I got so lost
I've seen a big change, in how I think lately
No signs of sympathy, whoa whoa
For her tranquility, whoa whoa
Brought me down with her vanity, facile things are destroying me
Completely driven by a deadly obsession
The words slide into her ear, she doesn't listen cause it wasn't clear
Pushed down to the ground, it's an emergency
[Chorus]
She played a huge role in how I've been lately
Stole all my sanity, whoa whoa
Hold tight and kissed me and now I'm completely
Under this certainty, whoa whoa
Maybe love can exist in me, through this girl who I never see
Too many questions that have been left unanswered
Holds me down so I never leave, she holds cards that I've never seen
Pushed down to the ground, it's an emergency
[Chorus]
I tried to forget, live my life in regret
Go to you for respect, now I slowly reflect
On the life that you stole but I'm breaking through slowly
So don't try to hold me
[Chorus: x3]
The lyrics of Danger Radio's song "Where I Started" convey a sense of loss, confusion, and desperation. Through the chorus, the singer yearns to be brought back to where he started and wonders how he got so lost. He speaks of a girl who has played a major role in his life, stealing his sanity and causing him to feel completely driven by a deadly obsession. He admits to being pushed down to the ground in an emergency as he struggles to regain control of his life.
The verses delve deeper into the singer's relationship with this girl, describing how his thoughts have changed and how he has been force-fed the enemy for her tranquility. The girl is portrayed as vain and obsessed with facile things that are destroying him. The singer wonders if love can exist with this girl he never sees and feels held down by her cards that he's never seen. The chorus repeats, emphasizing the singer's desire to return to where he started and escape from the chaos of his current situation.
Overall, the lyrics of "Where I Started" communicate a sense of loss and confusion, particularly in the singer's relationship with the girl who has stolen his sanity. The chorus's repetition of wanting to return to where he started creates an ongoing theme of the song, conveying his desperation to escape from the present.
