Dannii first broke out of her sister's shadow in 1997 with the album Girl. Whilst Kylie Minogue was experimenting with dark lyrics, indie collaborations and moody images (Impossible Princess), Dannii went out and out for the dancefloor with the huge hit All I Wanna Do. Unfortunately, the album that it was from only reached No. 57. However, Dannii herself has said, "This was a big turning point for me. It has led me on to the album Neon Nights and my collaborations with many club DJs and remixers".
2001 was a success for Dannii, when her vocals were part of Riva's Who Do You Love Now?, which laid the foundations for her fourth album Neon Nights released in March 2003.
Moving to London Records, Dannii made more credible dance tracks including I Begin To Wonder and Put The Needle On It. In 2003, Dannii released her fourth album, Neon Nights. It was a surprise chart success, reaching no.8 in the UK charts and eventually achieving gold status, selling over 100,000 copies. The album also made gold certification in Australia. Dannii also teamed up with chill-out Ibiza stars Afterlife for a collaboration on their Speck of Gold album. Dannii's star was beginning to shine in its own right.
In 2004, after a top 10 album and four top 10 singles, Dannii moved to All Around The World Records. Her first single for AATW was You Won't Forget About Me, which saw Dannii's vocals layered on top of the instrumental hit Flower Power and landed at no.7 in the UK charts, making it Dannii's fifth consecutive top 10 hit. You Won't Forget About Me was followed up in 2005 by Perfection, on which Dannii teamed up with the Soul Seekerz, which narrowly missed out on the top 10 in the UK, peaking at no.11. In 2006, she returned with So Under Pressure and her Greatest Hits album The Hits & Beyond.
Dannii has been a judge on British television channel ITV's The X Factor since 2007 alongside Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh.
In November 2007, Girl and Neon Nights were re-released with bonus discs, with a new studio album Club Disco and compilation album Unleashed appearing within the following weeks. A stand alone single Touch Me Like That was released in December 2007. It was later included on the re-release of Club Disco released in Australia in the spring 2008.
Later in 2008, the logical and long-overdue duet with her own sister finally was released as Kylie & Dannii recorded a cover of ABBA's The Winner Takes It All appeared on the soundtrack album to the shortlived BBC show Beautiful People.
Disrememberance
Dannii Minogue Lyrics

Like I'm floating into space
I feel my anger now
Vanishing without a trace
I feel so weak tonight
I'm no longer in control
I feel so different now
That it's time to face my soul
To change the memory
But if I forget myself -
Will you remember me?
Will you remember me?
I feel so bright tonight
Like I'm glowing in the dark
I feel so distant now
Burning like the smallest spark
I feel so weak tonight
Like I'm hardly even there
I feel much older now
But I'm still too young to care
You gave me the hope
That this was meant to be
But if I forget myself -
Will you remember me?
Will you remember me?
I feel no fear tonight
I feel no pain
I don't know what I feel
Or hope to gain
Will you remember me
"Dismemberment" by Dannii Minogue is a song about self-discovery and reflection. Throughout the lyrics, Dannii describes a feeling of calmness and peace, as if she is floating in space. She feels as if her anger has disappeared, and she is no longer in control. This suggests that she has relinquished her need to control the situation and is finding solace in letting go. She acknowledges feeling weak and different, indicating that she is finding a new perspective on life, and it's time to face her soul.
The hook of the song states "you gave me the time to change the memory, but if I forget myself - will you remember me?" suggesting that Dannii has had the opportunity to reflect and change aspects of herself. She wonders if the people around her will remember her for who she was before the changes, or if she will be remembered for who she has become.
Overall, "Disrememberance" is a powerful, introspective song that explores themes of self-awareness, growth, and the fear of being forgotten. It delivers a powerful message about the importance of self-discovery and the impact it can have on our relationships with others.

I feel so calm tonight
I am feeling very peaceful this very night
Like I'm floating into space
I feel relaxed as if I'm hovering in the space
I feel my anger now
I'm becoming aware of my anger
Vanishing without a trace
But, it's diminishing without any impact
I feel so weak tonight
I'm feeling feeble and low-spirited tonight
I'm no longer in control
I've lost control of myself
I feel so different now
I'm feeling different from how I felt before
That it's time to face my soul
It's high time I concentrate on my soul
You gave me the time
You allocated me sufficient time
To change the memory
To modify the remembrance
But if I forget myself -
Still, if I didn't consider myself
Will you remember me?
Will you recollect me?
I feel so bright tonight
I feel flamboyant this very evening
Like I'm glowing in the dark
Almost like I'm radiating in the darkness
I feel so distant now
I'm feeling emotionally, physically, or psychically apart
Burning like the smallest spark
But now the smallest spark is burning in me
I feel so weak tonight
I'm feeling feeble and low-spirited tonight
Like I'm hardly even there
I'm barely noticeable
I feel much older now
I feel much more mature now
But I'm still too young to care
But, still, I feel it isn't yet the time for me to worry
You gave me the hope
You provided me with optimism
That this was meant to be
That this is preordained and expected
But if I forget myself -
However, if miss to take notice of myself
Will you remember me?
Will you not forget me?
I feel no fear tonight
Tonight, I'm devoid of any anxiety
I feel no pain
I'm not experiencing any torment
I don't know what I feel
I'm unsure what I'm experiencing right now
Or hope to gain
Or have a desire to obtain
Will you remember me
Will you keep my memory alive?

Amazing tune β€οΈ I remember hearing this at the kids' nightclub in Darlington back in the 90s, I fell in love with it but had no idea what it was, it took me about 20 years to finally ID it π Now in 2024 I've used AI to rip the vocals and I'm remixing it at 170 bpm to play in my DJ sets, what a time to be alive π cheers Dannii πβ€οΈ

Truth is we will always remember her. She has been entertaining us for many years and for a lot of us she will always be the little girl with oodles of charisma from young talent time that grew up to be a versatile adult performer and all round class act
