Danny has released many free projects over the web, the most popular being 2011’s XXX. Brown released the album "Hawaiian Snow” with G-Unit’s Tony Yayo and several mixtapes (Detroit State of Mind 1-4, Browntown, It’s A Art (with producer Mainframe) and Hot Soup). Brown has found much success on the internet through the support of the music blogs and social media and the decision to release “The Hybrid” online as a free download.
Danny has worked with many artists in the Detroit hip-hop community such as the late J Dilla, Black Milk, Elzhi, Guilty Simpson, Trick Trick, and T3. Also known for championing up-and-coming artists, Danny has worked with lesser known acts such as Oakland, California's Main Attrakionz and is know for promoting these types of underground acts via his twitter.
Brown spent most of the summer of 2010 touring with G-Unit, and a few months later released “Hawaiian Snow” with Tony Yayo. Due to lack of promotion the sales were disappointing, however through the G-Unit connection Brown was able to experience firsthand the rigors of touring and the workings of the music industry as a whole. The experience served to jade Danny to the concepts of being on a major label and committing himself to appealing to an urban audience who he felt rejected him because of his look and style of dress which consisted of skinny jeans and vintage tees as 50 Cent refused to sign Danny Brown to G-Unit because he didn’t approve of his distaste for baggy denim. No longer concentrating on appealing to any particular audience, With this new found freedom, Danny delved into making more experimental music based on influences like UK Grime and Progressive Rock.
His experimental sound melded with traditional street narrative has brought about attention from progressive press such as Pitchfork.com, Fader Magazine, Spin Magazine and the like but no press more satisfying than making the cover of the Detroit Metro Times, his hometown’s alternative art’s and culture magazine.
Danny’s music later found a home on Fool’s Gold Records, the independent label helmed by internationally heralded DJ A-Trak and his partner Nick Catchdubs. The label and the artist having the same mindset, the two parties are now focused on releasing his upcoming projects, a free album that released Summer 2011 entitled “XXX” and his untitled Fool’s Gold records debut coming subsequently after.
His albums that followed also received positive feedback (Old, Atrocity Exhibition, U Know What I'm Sayin?).
He then sadly dunked on anyone else who had the misfortune to drop in the calendar year 2023 by dropping album of the decade Scaring the Hoes Vol. 1 with JPEGMAFIA on March 24th. It tragically received praise from disgraced music reviewer the BallDrop, but contrarily to this otherwise mark of disgrace from the worst person we all have the displeasure to be aware of, the album actually fye asl.
You know he had to go two for two on the DLC of Scaring the Hoes on the sacred national holiday of 7/11. No skips all Ws and is not mixed like shit for the "aesthetic" anymore, and JPEGMAFIA dodges the corny allegations by making Danny audible. Great news all around.
On October 17th, he began the rollout for his highly anticapted sixth studio album with the single Tantor (fire as fuck).

Iller than I ever been
Blowing on that medicine
Used to have dreams of copping cribs on Edison
Now I'm doing shit thought I never could afford
All on the wall like science project boards
Parquet floor
Furniture you touch be like whats that velvet
Use to play the block with the sack by the pelvis
Fiends O.D.ing on they toilet like Elvis (eww)
So now I kill beats
So much coroners pick up notepad sheets
Bullhead skinnies Hilfiger fleece
Sort of like a futuristic 1993
A lot my niggas dead
A lot my niggas locked
A lot my niggas left and moved on from the block
Some of my niggas here
Some got guap
And some may gotta piss in a motherfucking pot
We use to play the block
We never get old
The fridge ain't got shit but the bread with the mold
And some ain't got shoes just the ones with the holes
The one you call talkers with the fucking plastic soles
So now we change the system
To shit we can't afford and
Check from McEdees can't buy a pair of Jordans
And hotboys gotta get it how they live
Close your eyes I'm bout to take you to a city, it ain't pretty, it ain't nowhere to go
Run and hide when you on the other side it ain't easy it ain't nowhere to go
Land of misery a place full of history but seriously it's nowhere to go
I seen my nigga luck before he went up for life
He said Brown you nice and nigga send your sacrifice
Chill on the streets it ain't here for ya
Cuz when you get locked dont nobody care for ya
Did a little time ain't make a phone call
Book stay thick like a church going broad
Locked in the county ain't never seen a
Now I hit the thrift stores cop a vicious polo
Never talk loud to get my point across
The only alligator that I rock is lacoste
Detroit player word to my nigga B.I.G
Play this type of shit while you rockin up for B.I.G
Cuz I blow 2 blunts before I brush my teeth
Ain't seen what they looking like but I'm smoking good
Eating Better
So I stay full
J stay paid
Brown do too
Close your eyes I'm bout to take you to a city, it ain't pretty, it ain't nowhere to go
Run and hide when you on the other side it ain't easy it ain't nowhere to go
Land of misery a place full of history but seriously it's nowhere to go
In Danny Brown's song "Nowhere 2 Go," he reflects on how far he has come in his life, and how he has moved on from his past experiences. He begins the song by describing his present life of luxury, sitting high in his truck, feeling "iller than he ever been" and enjoying the use of "medicine," which could refer to marijuana or another drug. He compares his current life to his past dreams of "copping cribs on Edison," implying that he has surpassed his previous aspirations. He goes on to describe the rough neighborhood he used to live in, where he and his friends had to play the block and deal drugs in order to get by. He reminisces about the friends who have passed away or moved on, and how some of them are still struggling to make ends meet.
As the song progresses, Danny Brown switches from describing his past to his present. He talks about how he now "kills beats" and makes music that is beyond what he thought he was capable of. He mentions how some of his friends are still trapped in the cycle of poverty and crime, while he has been able to break free from it. He references his time in jail and how no one cared about him when he was locked up. He ends the song on a positive note, talking about how he is doing better and feeling fulfilled. He is no longer dwelling in the past, but instead, he is focused on the present and looking forward to the future.
