1. Daphne ( age 20 ) is widely known for her ambient-based excentric music. While she has only been ‘creating’ since 2010, her tracks are loved by many for the simple but strong sounds in her work, the smooth edginess and flowing features. Originating from the far south-west of Holland, Daphne quickly moved to Rotterdam to indulge herself in the local underground techno and minimal scene. Althought the dockworking mentallty is prevalant in her sound resulting in harsh beats and deep baselines, one can still hear vague hints of the beach life she grew up in, giving her sound a more smooth and accecable groove. By many she is compated to the likes of Extrawelt, Moderat, Paul Kalkbrenner and Plastikman. Although these comparisons are spot on, she is always three steps ahead of the scene proven by her own unique and distinct sound.
2. Daphne is a French singer who released her first album in 2005.

Consequences

A total waste
Of a perfect place
You said we'd go my pace
You're at the end of the race
You love the chase
Clothes are off
Is this all that you want
I've been lying to myself
That we could be something else
Who can I trust
Who can I love
Call it a bluff
That's all it was
You would say goodbye to me
While you're putting on your jeans
You don't think about the consequences (no-no)
You can't think about the consequences (oh-no)
But even after all the consequences
You'd do it all again
Fuck it all up again damn
That's one quick turnaround
I was seeing hearts
Now I'm crying on the ground
Try not to blame myself
That you're happier being by yourself
Clothes are off
Pillow talk
Is this all that you want
I've been lying to myself
That we could be something else
Who can I trust
Who can I love
Call it a bluff
That's all it was
You would say goodbye to me
while you're putting on your jeans
You don't think about the consequences (no-no)
You can't think about the consequences (oh-no)
But even after all the consequences
You'd do it all again
Fuck it all up again damn
The worst part is I think you're gonna come back
Your name's still in my phone wishing you'd want that
You don't think about the consequences
You can't think about the consequences
But even after all the consequences
You do it all again
Fuck it all up again
Damn
In "Consequences" by Daphne, the lyrics depict a tumultuous and damaging relationship. The first stanza describes the initial attraction and excitement in the relationship, comparing it to a "tidal wave" and a "perfect place." However, the singer quickly realizes that their partner is not emotionally invested in the relationship. They mention that their partner enjoys the thrill of the chase but does not consider the consequences of their actions.
The second stanza delves into the physical aspect of the relationship, with the lines "Clothes are off, Pillow talk." Despite their physical intimacy, the singer feels a sense of emptiness and doubts the authenticity of their connection. They confess that they have been lying to themselves, hoping for something more than a purely physical relationship. The questions "Who can I trust, Who can I love" express their confusion and disappointment in the situation.
The chorus repeats the theme of the partner's disregard for the consequences of their actions. The singer criticizes their partner for not considering the potential harm caused by their behaviors. The lines "You don't think about the consequences, You can't think about the consequences" highlight the partner's shortsightedness and lack of consideration for the impact of their actions. Despite the negative consequences, the partner is willing to repeat their destructive behavior, creating a cycle of damage and regret.
In the bridge, the singer expresses a glimmer of hope or longing for reconciliation. The line "The worst part is I think you're gonna come back" indicates that despite the pain caused, they still hold onto the possibility of their partner returning. The mention of the partner's name still being in their phone suggests an ongoing attachment and desire for their return. This adds a layer of complexity to the emotional dynamic between the two individuals.
Ultimately, the lyrics convey a story of a toxic relationship where one person is self-destructive and lacks empathy for the consequences of their actions. The singer's perspective showcases their realization of the harmful nature of the relationship and their struggle to let go despite the pain.
