Joan Of Arc
David Guetta Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Love in the fall
God saint child
Don't you miss of it all
The Joan of Arc
Kiss in the dark; she's a Firestone
Catching all; watch her burn
Dark star spirit now she's up in the gutter
Kills her feeling; keep us in here
Come out saint, but she called a healing
Don't say nothing; love in the fall
God saint child; don't you miss of it all
[Chorus]
The Joan of Arc
Kiss in the dark; she's a Firestone
Catching all; watch her burn
The Joan of Arc
It's such a shock
Watching her getting out
Let it out
Lips are burning (The Joan of Arc)
White heart city, jungle in here
Hang low spinning, now she's lost in the mirror
Heart spits ripping,
Strikes up busy bodies suffer the fever
All saints come one you loving the fall
Go my child, look away from it all
[Chorus]
The lyrics present a complex and mysterious narrative about a woman referred to as Joan of Arc. The opening lines suggest a warning, telling us to "not say nothing" and reminding us not to miss anything in the "love in the fall." The next lines introduce us to the titular character and describe her as being a "Firestone" and "catching all," which implies that she is someone who draws in others, just as a fire draws in moths. The lyrics go on to describe her as "so so pretty," but also as "cutting her hair" and being a "dark star spirit," implying that she is rebellious and perhaps a bit dangerous.
Later on, the lyrics turn dark, with lines about Joan being "up in the gutter," experiencing "killing feelings," and the need for her to "come out" and call for healing. The chorus repeats the opening lines, reminding us of the fiery intensity of this woman and the watching eyes of those around her. The verse following the chorus introduces new imagery to the song, with "white heart city" and a "jungle in here." Lines like "hang low spinning" and "heart spits ripping" continue the theme of chaos and confusion.
Overall, the lyrics suggest a complex and intense character study of a woman who is both beautiful and dangerous, drawing others in with her fiery charisma but also struggling with inner turmoil and possibly self-destructive tendencies.
