OK…
Here’s kinda their side of the story, and history shows it to be mostly true.

These people (Somali) were very self-sufficient for a very very long time, as they were mostly fishermen, within their own local waters.

Then along came massive fishing vessels from other scrupulous countries… (China, North Korea, etc.)
These massive fishing vessels, literally out fished the waters off their coast, and gutted everything they had to live on.
Not to mention the environmental damage these fishing vessels did in the area.

They had little, to no means to fight them off.

They became desperate, and even after asking the global community (UN) for help.
They got little to no response or help.

After many years, facing nothing less than starvation for many of the people.
They took very desperate matters into their own hands the only way they knew how, or could…

Wouldn’t you…?

LOL.....
But just a thought.
Originally, these people were small coastal villagers that were used to being self-sustaining, and lived on fishing for decades. But, can't anymore, because their fishing waters were wiped out by foreigners.

Meanwhile, the corrupt people in power (Their Government) doesn’t give a dam about the little village people, that were just surviving on their fishing to live. But, they can't anymore.

So, with no government help, their fishing waters wiped out by giant foreign fishing trawlers, their families facing starvation, having no education, and feeling raided by outsiders.
They used the only tools, and knowledge they had to survive.

Ask yourself, if these coastal villagers even had as little as $2- 3,000 a year income, or could still fish.
Do you really think they would risk dying on the open sea in a little shit boat, as a hated pirate, while also being used for target practice by much greater powers...?

You're probably privileged enough to live in a country that has a governing body that mostly works for you, and for the greater good of its people.
They do not..

Over-Apologizing for using deadly means to pirates who want to harm others is really beyond me.

@flitsertheo

Sometimes it looks as if I am watching an A-Team episode : many guns, many shots fired, but nobody gets hit.

@joshriver75

We do what we need to do sometimes but your not supposed to enjoy killing another human being.

@JPurontong

@@joshriver75 -just setting an example like shoot them dead so others would know what to expect the next time around.

@@flitsertheo many times they've been hit. And sunk. On YT you can't upload all the contents

@flitsertheo

@@wtwyw9 I see the "policy" of most countries on Youtube which is to keep the occupants alive. Sometimes they are arrested and their boats are sunk, sometimes their weapons are taken but they can leave with their boat. One exception was those captured by the Russian navy. They let the pirates leave with their boat wishing them "bon voyage". That boat was never seen again.

If you’re intentionally trying to hijack my ship that I work on I’m taking no prisoners

Me too! I would cut the head off the snake.

@ronnieg6358

Why are they frightened of killing these scoundrels?
