Little Richard
Death Grips Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
He got triggered by the clicker
He got beat up, he got bigger
Little Richard
Little Richard
Little Richard, he's in the dorms
In the dorms
Maria Sharapova, yes
As good as anyone's guess
Little Richard
Little Richard
He just needs to A, B, C, and D
He just needs the world to be what he has seen
In the horn section
They hide weapons
Bottom of a white Bic
Chewed up like a pig's dick
Little Richard
Little Richard
The song "Little Richard" by Death Grips is a complex and enigmatic track that explores themes of violence, power, and identity. The lyrics appear to be fragmented and disjointed, but they paint a vivid picture of a troubled individual who is struggling to find his place in the world. The singer of the song is introduced in the first verse as someone who has taken a picture and been triggered by the sound of the camera's clicker. This event appears to have traumatized him in some way and made him more aggressive and confrontational ("he got beat up, he got bigger").
As the song progresses, we learn more about Little Richard and his mindset. He is described as being in "the dorms" and "gonna bomb", suggesting that he is either a college student or a domestic terrorist. He is fixated on the tennis player Maria Sharapova and is convinced that she is "as good as anyone's guess". This line is ambiguous but may be referring to his belief that her success is unexplainable or unjustified. The chorus repeats the name "Little Richard" over and over again, almost like a mantra, reinforcing the idea that he is struggling to define himself and find his place in the world.
The final verse of the song is perhaps the most cryptic and disturbing. It refers to a "horn section" that is hiding weapons and a "white Bic" that has been chewed up like a pig's dick. These lines are open to interpretation but may be referring to a group of people who are planning to carry out an act of violence or terrorism. Little Richard is connected to this group in some way, but it is unclear whether he is a willing participant or a victim. Overall, "Little Richard" is a dark and unsettling track that challenges the listener to think deeply about power, violence, and identity.
