Count on Me
Default Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I know that life ain't always good to you
I've seen exactly what it put you through
Thrown you around and turned you upside down
And so you, you got to thinking there was no way out
You started sinking and it pulled you down
It may be tough, you've got to get back up because

You know that life ain't over yet
I'm here for you so don't forget
you can count on me cause I will carry you till you carry on

Anytime you need someone
somebody strong to lean on
well you can count on me to hold you till that healing is done

And every time you fall apart
you can hide here in my arms
and you can count on me to hold you till that feeling is gone

I wonder why nobody's waiting on you
I'd like to be the one to pull you through
Your darkest times, I'd love to be the light that finds you
I see a silver lining on your cloud
I'll pick you up whenever you fall down
Just take my hand and I will help you stand because

You know that life ain't over yet
I'm here for you so don't forget
you can count on me cause I will carry you till you carry on

Gone so you can live today
I seems so long till yesterday
Keep on counting on me to carry you till you carry on
Carry on

You know that life ain't over yet
I'm here for you so don't forget
you can count on me cause I will carry you till you carry on

Remember life ain't over yet

I'm here for you so don't forget
that you can count on me to hold you till that feeling is gone

This song should really be re-released for today's generations. I don't understand why such an amazing song is not known globally!

@taekwondotime

People outside Canada aren't exposed to Canadian artists unless they live near the border and can pick up our radio stations. That's all there is to it. American radio stations are biased against playing any Canadian bands. They just won't do it. If you look at the Canadians who make it big in the US, they all have to LEAVE Canada (and usually become American citizens) BEFORE they achieve that peak level of success. It's rare for someone to remain in Canada and also get that international acclaim.

@wspencerhand

I don’t live anywhere near Canadia but we’re still rocking Default 10+ years later. Good tunes find their way to open ears.

@ralphcurrie3576

Amen brother, as a born again those lyrics are immensely powerful and need to be heard globally

@RumCaptain

They wouldn't relate. There isn't any "bruh," "nah," or "u no."

@lindacox4792

This entire album is amazing! Default had the misfortune to have a label that didn’t promote them.

I love the way these bands like Default, Fuel, Sevendust, Nickelback, Lifehouse, Staind, Stone Temple Pilots, do what they love which is real music with such a dedication, passion and heart. Not that fake ass Auto Tune shit some do nowadays.

@Jason-eg4hr

Agreed except STP is leaps and bounds better then the rest in your list in my opinion

@raydiabolico

@@Jason-eg4hr its been 8 years from my original comment. Can you imagine, this generation won't have anything to call classic music, cause after that comment things like Migos, Lil Uzi, Lil Pump, Travis Scott, Tekashi, non of that will be remembered at all and cant be either cause they arent memorable at all. Its more and more garbage.

@chriswilson1968

Nickelback? Lol
