The Prophecy
Defiance Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Believe that the words we were told
Shifting of ages
In all gods creation
Judgment day will soon come
The end of time
The great divide
Buy your swords
How will I know
The end the cycle of evolution
Time as we know
The end of all our own creation
The march of saints
The sacrifice
The prophecy or a book of lies
The march of saints
The sacrifice
The prophecy or a book of lies
The end of time
The great divide
The bio storm
Destroy mankind
The end of time as we know
Believe that the words we were told
Shifting of ages
In all gods creation
Judgment day will soon come
How will I know
The end the cycle of evolution
Time as we know
The end of all our own creation
The lyrics of Defiance's song The Prophecy are filled with heavy apocalyptic imagery, talking about the end of time and judgment day. The song starts by acknowledging the belief that the end of time is a known inevitability and calls for faith in the words that were spoken. The shifting of ages and the end of the cycle of evolution are discussed, possibly referring to the end of a particular era or way of life. The lyrics take a darker turn, calling to "buy your swords" and "destroy mankind," which could be interpreted as a warning against the dangers of militarism and the potential for destruction that is inherent in human nature.

@nothinghappens1 noo not to much. i think that the vocalist reminds you a lot like chuck. specially when he takes it up a notch and goes a little heavier. but musicly, altough it has some similarities, which is logical because its both pure thrash, its definitly too much copying from Testament. well thats my opinion of course
