Danny and Paul Janz had already performed together as "Danny and Paul" but joined with Ken in 1974 to form Deliverance — combining the "Janz Team Singers" with "Danny, Paul & Wayne" and created a dynamic new band. Guy Roellinger and Dave McSparran also joined the band during its history. The band released four albums before Paul Janz embarked on a solo career.

Blood Of The Covenant
Deliverance Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
There is no remission of sin
The hour the veil was wrent
That is when it all began
This was not the covenant that was made with our Fathers on Sinai
The Blood of the New Covenant shed for the remission of sin
A man hanging on a tree
His blood gushing from His own flesh
Will you dare commit
Or be another to fall at Satan's hand
The Blood of the Covenant
A testament
A remission of sin
This song speaks of the importance of the shedding of blood for the remission of sins. The lyrics refer to the old covenant made with the fathers on Sinai, where animal sacrifices were made for the forgiveness of sins. However, this song reminds us that the shedding of Jesus' blood on the cross is the new and final covenant for the remission of sins. The veil being rent is referencing the tearing of the veil in the temple at the moment of Jesus' death, signifying that access to God was now available to everyone through the sacrifice of Jesus.
