Don't Let the Dreamers Take You Away
Delphic Lyrics

Come and take you away
Oh no, don't let the dreamers
Come and take you away
To beat the feeling, of another tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow
I hear the beats surrender
I hear the beats surrender
Such to know that and the young heart
But I once was just like you
And the dreamers took me too
Oh no, don't let the dreamers
Come and take you away
Oh no, don't let the dreamers
Come and take you away
To beat the feeling, of another tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow
Running like the beats, always
Running in like the fields, always
Running like the beats, always
Running in like the fields, always
Yeah, I'm running like the fields
Don't let the dreamers, take you away
Don't let the dreamers, don’t let the dreamers
Take you away
The lyrics of Delphic's "Don't Let the Dreamers Take You Away" seem to be a warning against the dangers of getting lost in one's own dreams and the illusions they create. The opening line addresses the listener directly, urging them not to let themselves be carried away by their own idealistic visions, represented by the "dreamers" in the song. The repetition of this line, along with the urgent tone of the singer's voice, emphasizes the importance of this message. The line "To beat the feeling, of another tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow" suggests that the desire for a better future can sometimes overshadow the present, leading to a constant search for something that may not exist.
The middle section of the song describes the singer's own experience of being led astray by the dreamers. The reference to "the beats" surrendering could be interpreted as a metaphor for the heart giving in to emotions and fantasies. The line "just a numb start" is ambiguous but seems to suggest that the singer initially felt numb or disconnected from reality before finding solace in the dream world. The repetition of "tomorrow" in this section reinforces the idea that dreams can become a trap, always promising a future that never arrives.
The final stanza of the song shifts focus back to the listener, with the singer encouraging them to keep running like the fields, suggesting that they should stay grounded in reality rather than losing themselves in their own dreams. The repeated line "Don't let the dreamers, take you away" is a powerful reminder not to forget the importance of the present moment and all that it has to offer.
Overall, the lyrics of "Don't Let the Dreamers Take You Away" are a cautionary tale about the pitfalls of idealism and the importance of staying connected to reality.
