Ferrer’s interest in production and dance first led him into the world of early 90’s electronic music. After a number of years working with the critically acclaimed Synewave label from New York, he connected with Kerri Chandler who re-introduced him to the soul and funk of music from his youth via House. Ferrer’s love of such artists as T-Connection, DJ Rodgers, early Herbie Hancock, early Cameo and Confunkshun finally found ways to surface in his music. Chandler instantly recognized Ferrer’s talent for production and business sense and together they formed Sfere Recordings in 1998 (Sfere being a name derived from Chandler’s Shelter / Ibadan classic “Atmosphere” combined with Ferrer’s old techno alias “Aurasphere”). The label was devised with the ambitions of exploring many different aspects of soulful house including Brazilian, Gospel and Jazz sounds. The emphasis at Sfere is clearly, however, focused on songs since both partners believe in the timelessness of a great song.
Ferrer’s DJ career runs in tangent with his increased visibility as a producer and his creative reach covers five continents. December 2003 saw his return to South Africa for a Heineken sponsored series of events alongside UK DJ powerhouse, Pete Tong. He has traveled to multiple European markets and played with regularity in many of the major venues in countries such as the UK (MOS, Soul Heaven, Back To Basics, Ultragroove, Angel Deelite, Neighbourhood), France (Cheers, Sunslice Festival, L’Ambassade, La Noche Festival, Queen), Scandinavia (Hultsfred Festival, Jeriko), Benulux (Pizzaz!), Russia (Propaganda), Greece (Balux), Italy (Red Zone), Japan (Module) and S. E. Asia (Club Ohm and Rouge). In North America he has crossed the continent with performances in NYC, San Diego, San Francisco, Chicago, Miami, LA, Toronto and Montreal.

No tears left
You just don't know what I'm going through
Mind your step
Last I checked
You just don't know what I'm going through
Caught in between your world and mine
Passenger of time on an endless ride
Subjected to a dream going nowhere
So often on a plane train or in a car
But always on the way back to where you are
Do you still care
Do you still care
What if we broke down within our shallow pool
Should I fool myself again and blindly follow you
Would it be fair
Would it be fair
Would it be fair
Would it be fair
Caught in between, am I wasting time
Finding that it's hard to right on wet paper
But try, I still try, I'm the pantomime
Playing out the part of your enabler
So often on a plane train or in a car
But always on the way back to where you are
Do you still care
Do you still care
What if we broke down within our shallow pool
Should I fool myself again and blindly follow you
Would it be fair
Would it be fair
Would it be fair
Would it be fair
Would it be fair
The lyrics of "Mind Ur Step" by Dennis Ferrer feat Janelle Kroll reflect the turmoil and uncertainty that can often arise in a relationship. The singer speaks to their partner, telling them to mind their step and be careful of how they are treating them. They feel unseen and unheard, and their partner doesn't seem to understand the depth of what they are going through. The singer feels caught between their own world and their partner's, not fully belonging in either one. They are stuck in a cycle of going back and forth, never quite reaching a resolution. The lyrics express the frustration and the struggle of someone who is trying to make a relationship work, but feeling that their efforts are in vain.
The song speaks to the relatable experience of many people who have been in a difficult relationship. It talks about the struggle to communicate and to feel seen by one's partner. It is a plea for understanding and acknowledgement of the challenges and pain that the singer is going through. The lyrics also echo the idea that some relationships may be toxic and can hold us back from true growth and happiness.

Hey Kris...
Maybe you could help me. Exactly at that 4:04, a synthie sound starts in the background (also at 2:09) and plays for a minute or so.
I know it somewhere from; is it another Ferrer track?
It’s a bit of an older tune, I can’t get it out of my head, the whole song is built around that sound.
When you also mention that point in the actual track, I thought you might have an idea ✌🏽
I also asked in another comment above, but I need to tap all the sources 😇

In production. But somehow as a DJ he's not the best imo. Seen him twice, was disappointed twice.
