Funky house was first pioneered by American artists including Todd Terry, Mateo & Matos, Glenn Underground and especially DJ Sneak, with releases like Funkadelikrelic. "The Bomb! (These Sounds Fall Into My Mind)" and "Disco's Revenge" were some of the first big hits of the genre. Funky house quickly spread to Europe thanks to DJs such as Germany's DJ Tonka, British duo Basement Jaxx, and especially French artists like Thomas Bangalter, who would develop an offshoot emphasising signature low pass filtering and even more prominent basslines, which would become known as French House.
The late 1990s marked the beginning of funky house's massive popularity, exemplified by successful hits such as "U Don't Know Me", "Don't Call Me Baby", and "Lady (Hear Me Tonight)". Labels including Defected, Spinnin', Positiva, Hed Kandi, and Ministry of Sound began to release the genre in large amounts, along with producers such as Armand Van Helden, Dennis Christopher, Freemasons, Mark Simmons, and Olav Basoski. Dance-Pop singers such as Kylie Minogue and Sophie Ellis-Bextor were also attracted to the genre, performing on many funky house instrumentals, with the genre playing a role in the 2000s wave of Europop.
Funky house continued its big success till the mid-2000s, with "Lola's Theme" and "The Weekend" becoming other popular tracks. The genre started to decline in the second half of the decade, due to more restrictive sampling rights, as well as the rise of Electro House, often building on funky house (and especially french house) foundation by their former producers. Nonetheless, it remained a mainstay in the house scene, with tons of active artists like Block & Crown, Wh0, and Earth n Days as well as labels, particularly PornoStar and Tactical Records. The genre even still manages to score occasional mainstream hits, such as "Barbra Streisand", "Peanut Butter Jelly", and "Rasputin".

If you wanna believe that anything could stop me
If you don't wanna see me
Did a full 180, crazy
Thinking 'bout the way I was
Did the heartbreak change me? Maybe
But look at where I ended up
I'm all good already
So moved on, it's scary
I'm not where you left me at all, so
If you don't wanna see me dancing with somebody
If you wanna believe that anything could stop me
(Hey, hey, hey)
Don't show up, don't come out
Don't start caring about me now
Walk away, you know how
Don't start caring about me now
Aren't you the guy who tried to
Hurt me with the word "goodbye"?
Though it took some time to survive you
I'm better on the other side
I'm all good already
So moved on, it's scary
I'm not where you left me at all, so
If you don't wanna see me dancing with somebody
If you wanna believe that anything could stop me (whoa)
Don't show up, don't come out
Don't start caring about me now
Walk away, you know how
Don't start caring about me now ('bout me now)
Oh, oh
Don't come out, out, out
Don't show up, up, up
Don't start now (oh)
Oh, oh
Don't come out, out
I'm not where you left me at all, so
If you don't wanna see me dancing with somebody
If you wanna believe that anything could stop me
Don't show up (don't show up), don't come out (don't come out)
Don't start caring about me now ('bout me now)
Walk away (walk away), you know how (you know how)
Don't start caring about me now (so)
Oh, oh
Don't come out, out, out
Don't show up, up, up
Walk away, walk away (so)
Oh, oh
Don't come out, out
Don't show up, up, up
Walk away, walk away, oh
Just when you thought it was over, haha, yeah
Walk away, walk away, oh
In "Don't Start Now," Dua Lipa sings about moving on from a past relationship and not wanting her ex-lover to suddenly start caring again. The opening lyrics express the confidence she has in herself despite going through a painful heartbreak. She mentions doing a full 180 and reflects on the way she was before. While she wonders if the heartbreak changed her, she notes that she's better off than where she started despite initial doubt. The chorus is a declaration that she's moved on and doesn't want her ex to try and come back into her life now that she's healing and dancing with somebody new.
In the second verse, she addresses her ex-boyfriend and reminds him of how he hurt her with his actions. She admits that it took some time for her to survive this heartbreak but emphasizes that she's better off without him. She repeats the chorus as a strong message to her ex-boyfriend, reminding him that he had his chance and lost it. The bridge is an extension of the chorus, with Dua Lipa repeating the message of "walk away" and not showing up or coming out again.
Overall, this song showcases Dua Lipa's confidence and resilience as she moves on from a difficult breakup. Through the lyrics, she empowers listeners to prioritize their own happiness and not let past love interests suddenly re-enter their lives.

God bless you 👋
Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come, and the years come of which you will say, I have no contentment in them;
Ecclesiastes 12:1
Jesus Christ loves you ❤️
Jesus said to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life; No one comes to the Father except through me.

I don’t even know much about her, but it’s crazy how many catchy hooks this song has. Every part is catchy enough to be a chorus. It’s quite impressive.
