The general idea was to make music, any kind of music.
It didn't have to fit with anything or be categorized; just making music.
After a while, ideas became more serious and complete songs were formed.
Early 2005 there was a first demo, recorded in a home environment, using drum machines and sequencers.
In late 2005 DIAL started seriously consider making an album.
Early 2006 DIAL got in touch with musician/producer Devon Graves (Dead Soul Tribe) and after hearing a newer version of the demo (re-recorded and re-mixed early 2006) he was happy to help out with producing the début album of DIAL.
The album was recorded at Dead Soul Temple (Austria) in June/July 2006.

Candyland
Dial Lyrics

So pointless and grey
But why not embrace life as a fairytale?
There is so much I´d like to do before I die
Counting all the stars and wet kiss the moon
I´m flying, I´m rolling, I´m falling
Sleeping on a fluffy cloud and wake up
When the morning comes I feel so "dizzelidoo"
What a feeling! What a feeling!
What a feeling! What a feeling! (To fly)
Bathing in a pool of glitter and gold
I´m drowning, I´m swirling, I´m floating
Eating cake with Mickey Mouse and meet
with all his funny friends
When it rains I´d like do dance with Fred Astaire
Wrapping myself in a blanket of snow
I´m freezing, I´m shaking, I´m melting
Then I´m running throught the field for
there´s no end in Candyland
I´d like to have it all, the girl in me is dreaming
How would it be twinkle like a star?
And see the world from a different pont of view
Through your eyes, through their eyes
Isn´t that a silly thing to do?
The song "Candyland" by Dial speaks to the human desire to escape the mundanity of everyday life and to experience the world through the eyes of a child, with a sense of wonder and imagination. We all sometimes feel stuck in a routine, going through the motions without really engaging with our surroundings. Life can seem pointless and grey, but the artist urges us to approach it as a fairytale, embracing its endless possibilities.
The lyrics paint a fantastical picture of various activities the artist would like to experience before dying. From counting stars, kissing the moon, and flying through the air, to bathing in glitter and gold, eating cake with Mickey Mouse, and dancing with Fred Astaire. The artist yearns to wrap themselves in a blanket of snow and run through Candyland, a never-ending field where they can have it all. It's a world where the girl inside the artist can dream big and let imagination run wild. The chorus repeats the phrase "What a feeling! What a feeling! To fly," capturing the sense of exhilaration and freedom that comes with breaking free from the confinements of everyday life.
Overall, "Candyland" is a whimsical and upbeat song about the power of imagination and the importance of embracing a childlike sense of wonder, even in adulthood. The lyrics are a reminder to not take life too seriously and to explore all the fantastical possibilities that the world has to offer, even if just in our minds.

Much props to Gandhi Land. I'd love for Ed to develop a character from this voice. An Indian guy who uses slang words like "much props" or "what up homey".
