I have been listening to this album at least 10 times, it is a great one! So I wrote a fictional short story about the music and the thumbnail...

He felt stuck. As ever so often he felt stuck in this life. He was moving, but it didn't feel like he was moving forward. He felt like he was treading in place, like someone stuck in quicksand, sinking deeper and deeper with every movement.

But at least he had his guitar, he'd think in the few more hopeful moments that rarely crept into his mind these days. But most days he didn't even feel like playing, didn't feel like composing, felt like he was no good and no one would like his music anyways.

These days he spent most of his time in his tiny parisian appartment. It was dark. There was mold in the bathroom. It wasn't cheap. But the location was good and the dark space matched his cloudy mind. Close to the beautiful Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, that promised at least a bit of a natural escape in this ever bustling, noisy and often smelly city.

Interestingly enough it was a cloudy day, when a ray of hope crept through the dusty curtains into the brain of the boy that was laying motionless on the bed. Thinking nothing and everything.

"Take your guitar and go" the thought said. He didn't feel like going anywhere. But the thought rooted intself into his mind and he just couldn't shake it of. "Go" the thought repeated with a growing intensity. "Go. Take your guitar. Go!"

He grew tired of the noise. So he did. He went outside and was greeted by the scent of pee that the wind carried from around the corner. He didn't even know where he should go, with the guitar in his hand that he hadn't even played in ages. He just kept walking. Staight, right, left, straight, left.

He must have walked for a while without even noticing, like in trance until he heard a familiar sound that brought him back to reality. Soft, melancholic sounds. From afar they sounded like the voice of an angel. As he got closer he recognized the sweet sound of the violin. It almost sounded like a tune his sister had played growing up. Not quite but similar.

As he got closer and closer his vision started to blurr and his cheeks felt wet. So many memories of his sister came flooding back. But as he kept on walking and searching he couldn't find the source of where the music came from. It wasn't a street musician as he initially thought. He kept on walking. Into a park, straying from the path, away from people, into the bushes and trees. The music grew louder but he still couldn't find where it was coming from.

He searched until the sun set, until he felt alone again in this world but somehow he could still hear and feel the violin playing, pulling him in, calling him, lovingly.

"Just take your guitar and go!"

He stopped in his tracks. No, that couldn't be, could it? He didn't know if he was awake or dreaming, but he felt as if warm light rained down on him in the cold darkness of the night. He felt weightless. His guitar felt weightless. He felt as someone had lifted him out a dark hole, out of the quicksand that hindered him to move forward.

When he felt firm ground under his feet and the guitar in his grip, he finally knew. He knew what he could do to honor his beloved sister and keep moving forward at the same time. He cried as his fingers hit the first note.

This album is a true part of me, of my heart, a mix of my luminous emotions and my darkest thoughts. It's the most intimate piece of work I've ever released. It contains all my sensitivity, my strengths and my weaknesses at the same time.
"Mutations" is about my constant need to be in movement and my fear of immobility in my life. I need to constantly move forward and get out of my confort zone to feel safe and alive.

If you feel the same way, and if you only feel yourself during these moments of mutations, then this album is for you.

Happy Halloween everyone, stay safe 🖤
